WANTED IN WAPATO —
A family fast asleep — woken in fright as gunshots and gang warfare erupt outside their home.
Jose Silva and Daniel Acevedo are the two shooting suspects Wapato Police are searching for.
Silva is the accused gunman.
Detectives say Acevedo also pulled a firearm on the victim– but never pulled the trigger.
Both are wanted for attempted murder and both are “armed and dangerous” gang members, who detectives say blindsided the victim after sharing some suds last October. “They were having a visit, talking outside, drinking some beer,” said Wapato Police Det. Michael Campos. “They went inside to continue their visit, victim forgot his phone, or something outside on the bench. As he walked outside to retrieve his phone, saw the two subjects. They opened fire on him. We had another adult male and an elderly female who lives at the residence, a younger boy. The three were sleeping at the time when this shooting took place.”
None of those three were hurt, but the victim was shot in the face. He survived.
Silva is a convicted felon and also wanted for illegally having a gun.
Detectives say both he and Acevedo are suspects in other shootings as well.
