Carpenter was booked into the King County jail and is being held on numerous drug charges.
WANTED IN SEATTLE —
A violent robber is caught on cell phone video after police say he attacked a clerk during a theft at an adult sex store.
He’s been identified as convicted felon, Michael Carpenter, and now detectives are hoping you can help find him.
“He goes into the store and he goes up to the clerk and the clerk has an electronic device, it looks like an iPad laying there, so he picks it up and starts walking away with it. Well, obviously the clerk says, ‘Hey, Hey’ and the suspect then turns around and takes a swipe at him, actually hits him on the chin. Suspect then exits the store.” And that’s when the worker at Oz’s Treasure Box on Aurora Ave. followed him outside and hit record on his cell phone.
He got a great look at him wearing that red St. Louis Cardinals jacket.
Carpenter already has a Department of Corrections warrant for Escape.

The News Tribune reports that the Pierce County man is charged with second-degree assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of violating a domestic violence court order and resisting arrest.
According to charging documents, the man assaulted the mother of his children and repeatedly fired the gun while the family drove to go camping on Aug. 18.
“The defendant was assaulting her and shooting the gun next to her head while she was driving, causing the car to swerve all over the road to include off the road,” prosecutors wrote in charging papers. “She said she had never been so scared in her life.”
The children are ages 2, 4 and 9.
Investigators say they have been unable to locate the man because he checked out of a local hospital, on Aug. 31, before they arrived to arrest him.

AUBURN — Greg Corwin woke up early Monday morning to the sound of his garage door opening.
“I heard some banging and I thought I heard footsteps outside,” said Corwin.
A burglar used the garage door opener he found in Corwin’s truck to open the door and steal several items including a Dremmel tool kit.
“The cameras are right there. He’s literally underneath the cameras,” said Corwin.
King County deputies are hoping someone can identify the man with the ponytail and Seahawks hat who also a kid’s Nikon camera and a laptop out of the Corwin’s truck.
It’s the latest in a series of thefts in the neighborhood on 55th Ave S near Auburn that has homeowners fed up.
"I think there's a strong chance that if a guy continues to do this in this neighborhood because of the pain they've been through., somebody is gonna get shot out here,” said Corwin.
The thief even had the nerve to come back three times but raced off after a neighbor started chasing him.
"These criminals just want stuff to sell so they can buy drugs,” said King County Sgt. Cindi West.
She cautions homeowners to never leave their garage door opener in a vehicle.
“Take it in and out with you every day because that is one of the tools the suspects like to use to get into your residence and you may not even notice it missing at that time. They may come back at another time and break into your house when you're at work,” said Sgt. West.
Corwin says the thief got lucky and found his truck unlocked which never usually happens.
Since the burglary, he has been staying up nights to keep his family safe. “It needs to stop and he needs to get off the streets. I'm serious about that. I want that guy off the streets,” said Corwin.
Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. If you can identify the suspect, call the hot line anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit the information online at http://www.crimestoppers.com
SEATTLE – Police say a man suspected of murder in North Carolina was spotted at an ATM in Seattle on Tuesday.
Daryl Keeling, 28, is wanted in connection with the strangulation of his ex-girlfriend Allison Middaugh last week in Davidson County, N.C.
Seattle police say Keeling was spotted at 1215 4th Ave. at 5:50 p.m., and might be in the area of the Greyhound bus depot on Royal Brougham Way.
Keeling is 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, and has a tattoo on his arm that says “Keeling.” He’s wearing distinctive black shoes with white laces.
Police said he has military experience and has been diagnosed with Post-traumatic stress disorder.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward. Contact them at 1-800-222-TIPS or call 911 if you see Keeling.
SEATTLE — One look at the surveillance video from the Desert Sun Tanning Salon in West Seattle, and it appears as though the two women are really hitting it off.
Problem is; the employee, on the left, Meredith Thompson, doesn’t realize she’s the hit and the woman on the right is about to take off with her purse and her car!
“A woman came into my salon about 7:30 p.m. and it was getting dark, she was by herself, she said she was waiting for a ride,” says Meredith.
Meredith let the woman stay to wait for her ride. She says the woman chatted her up about all kinds of topics. At one point, Meredith walks away from the front desk to clean a bed and that’s when investigators say the smooth-talker becomes a smooth criminal.
“All my years of working, few people come to mind of being a really smooth crook. This is one of them,” says retired Seattle police detective Myrle Carner of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.
“You can see her look to see how far back I am and then she just runs, grabs the purse, puts it on the counter and comes over here. Then she hides it next to the water machine,” says Meredith.
When Meredith returns, the woman continues chatting with Meredith’s purse sitting just at her feet.
Unaware, Meredith keeps working and when she returns, the woman is gone. The same surveillance camera also captured Meredith’s car from the parking lot. The headlights turn on and the car drives away.
“Once she leaves the tanning salon, now she steals the victim’s car. We really want to put her in custody, in jail, where she belongs,” says Carner.
While Seattle police are investigating, Meredith says she’s learned a tough lesson.
“I have to have my guard up now, because the second I let it down, something like this happens,” she says.
Meredith’s car is a 2003 gray Honda Accord coupe with license number BBF4427.
If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. There is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to her arrest and the return of the stolen car.
TACOMA — DNA on clothing left outside a restaurant helped Tacoma Police identify a suspect in four armed robberies. Jason Michael Woods dropped a jacket and knit hat he was wearing after robbing the Denny’s on Hosmer St. on November 12th, 2015. It was submitted to the WSP crime lab for analysis and returned a hit naming Woods. Victims were shown a photo montage and confirmed his identity.
On Aug. 31, Woods robbed Ma’s Place in Puyallup telling an employee, ‘I’m not going to shoot you. Just give me the money.” We dubbed him the ‘Goldilocks Bandit’ for the blond wig he was wearing. Woods also held up the Midland Eatery on Portland Ave E. and Starbucks on S. 56th St. in Tacoma.
He was arrested on Jan 18, 2016 where officers found a Ruger handgun, heroin and methamphetamine. In August, Woods was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the robberies plus another 5 years for using a gun.
WANTED IN PUYALLUP —
Take a good look at this restaurant robber I’m calling the ‘Goldilocks Bandit’ because of that long blonde wig he wore for his heist.
Like the fairytale, the three bears were away when he hit ‘Ma’s Place’ in puyallup on Monday — coming in like a customer, then whipping out a gun and demanding cash.
Detectives think he’s white, about 6’1” with a thin build.
He wore white sunglasses and that blonde wig.

BELLEVUE — Bellevue Police caught a guy we’ve been looking for since March. Wednesday night, Bellevue Detectives from the Special Operations Group were conducting a narcotics related investigation in the Lake Hills neighborhood of Bellevue. While on surveillance, a vehicle with a lone driver was spotted in the neighborhood and detectives conducted a license plate check and learned that the vehicle was reported to be stolen from the City of Kent, WA.
The driver exited the car and shortly thereafter returned and left the area. Detectives followed the car to the City of Renton where they observed the male park the car in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot located at 10712 S.E. Carr Road. The male exited the car where he was contacted by detectives and taken into custody without incident. The car was recovered and returned to its owner.
The suspect was identified as Thomas E. Lee, age 24. Lee had been featured on Washington’s Most Wanted for Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act and Assault 3rd Degree stemming from a theft that occurred in the Seattle Nordstrom store on March 18, 2016. Lee was booked into jail on his warrants. Pending charges from last night include Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act.
The Special Operations Group addresses specific types of repeat crimes with an innovative, proactive approach. The team targets prolific, active criminals in an effort to lower the overall rate of reported crime. The team conducts plain-clothes surveillance of targeted areas and surveillance of known active criminals and then coordinates with the King County Prosecutor’s Office to ensure that arrested suspects remain in custody. Additionally, SOG works frequently with the investigative units of other agencies to help address multijurisdictional offenders.
FUGITIVE UPDATE April 1, 2016 —
Seattle Police detectives say Washington’s Most Wanted tips helped identify the armed Nordstrom robbery suspect as Thomas Lee.
“Now, he’s still on the run and we need to find him, so we need to know where this suspect is,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “Maybe he’s armed himself again. We don’t know but the fact is he’s at large and probably will do it again.”
Detectives say Lee is known to frequent the Nordstrom stores in Bellevue and Southcenter mall as well as downtown Seattle.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN SEATTLE March 18, 2016 —
Take a look at the surveillance video showing a melee caught on camera outside the Nordstrom store in downtown Seattle, when two store loss prevention officers tried to detain a violent, armed thief.
Seattle detectives are hoping you can help identify him and say he’s been stealing from stores and was armed at the time. “He goes into the men’s department, grabs an umbrella and he grabs a set of gloves,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “He tries to hide them behind his back as he walks towards the exit. This is where things go bad.” A loss prevention officer was waiting for the suspect outside and springs into action to detain the thief. A second store security officer rushes to help. The struggle goes on for over a minute as they try to hold him against a wall while they wait for police to arrive. In the middle of it all, detectives say the suspect punched one of the loss prevention officers, but it could have been much worse. “The main thing we want to emphasis is that prior to the actual assault with his fist, he did mention to the loss prevention officer’s that, ‘I have a gun,’ says Carner. “As he ran from the store one store security officer grabbed the bag and sure enough, what did he find in that bag? A loaded automatic in there. This guy was telling the truth.”
Detectives say the suspect is a serial thief who has also hit at the Nordstrom store in Bellevue.
They think he's in his mid-20's, about 6’1” and weighs around 200 pounds.
Take a good look at the light-colored Seahawks hoodie he wore with dark cinch-strings hanging down and a "12" logo on the chest.

WANTED IN SEATTLE —
It always amazes and saddens me to see people just stealing whatever they want without any thought to the consequences or impact on those around them – like these two suspects that Seattle Police are trying to identify.
Detectives say they had a real bad attitude when they were confronted by a clerk, one of them even threw a bottle of perfume at the victim and threatened ‘I’ll kick your a**’.
“The gal without the hat has a big large purse and you’re going to see her actually put things into the purse and they start to leave and they’re confronted by store personnel and this is where things go bad,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “One of the gals without the hat turns, threatens the clerk and then turns and as she’s walking away she grabs some pretty hefty perfume bottles and chucks them at the loss prevention officer. If you watch the video, you’ll see the second suspect, the female with the hat. She’s just indignant in this thing. To add insult to injury, she grabs a six pack of soda going out the door like it’s no big deal. It’s kind of ‘in your face,’ but it is a strong-armed robbery and it is a felony. Every time it happens, prices go up so you and I pay the price for these thieves.”
Detectives say the first suspect is black, between 30 and 50 years old, 5'6” tall, with a thin build. She was wearing a brown dress.
The second suspect is also black and between 30 and 50 years old, 5'8” tall and wearing a white hat, green and white flower print blouse, green pants and carrying a large red bag.

SEATTLE — Andy Scollard remembers seeing two guys in dark clothing in his Rainier View neighborhood the morning his home was burglarized.
“They were suspicious to me but I tried to fight that urge and I just drove on by,” said Scollard.
That’s something he won’t do again and is one of the lessons he wants others to learn to protect themselves from thieves.
His surveillance camera caught two of them trying hard to break into his home on S. 115th St.
“One of the suspects has an object. You can't really tell but it looks like a small crowbar. He's wedging on a sliding glass door. He's looking in there. He's working on it,” said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.
The crook wasn’t able to get through that door but they did eventually break in through an older single pane aluminum sliding window which brings us to lesson #2.
"I recommend casement windows because they're much more difficult to get in,” said Scollard.
The burglars stole laptops, a tablet, some jewelry and credit cards.
"What upsets me the most is the subsequent identity theft,” said Scollard.
The thieves managed to get into his password-protected computer and hack his email account leading us to lesson #3.
"Now they have a two-step verification system and if you don't set that up yourself, the thief will set it up for themselves by giving them their cell phone number,” warned Scollard.
The crooks get your verification code and start ordering credit cards. A month later, one of the suspects wearing the same shoes is seen on surveillance video breaking into Scollard’s locked mailbox.
"You actually see the suspect duck out of sight because there's a car coming and he tries to hide himself in the bushes and once the car's gone he pops back in by the mailbox and you can see him just working, working it. finally it opens and they steal the mail. These guys need to be stopped,” said Carner.
That brings us to lesson number 4. Scollard says it’s important for victims to contact their credit agencies and ask for a 90-day alert on their accounts.
"I didn't realize because this hadn't happened to me so I waited a month and that's when I started getting these fake credit cards coming in,” said Scollard.
Now, he spends several hours each day trying to stay one step behind the thieves. Scollard is planning to upgrade his security system to install a loud alarm and advises people to think about getting a big dog. He’s sharing what happened to him in hopes of getting the suspects caught and to help other potential victims.
"If people do these few things, you can prevent it from happening,” he said.
The first suspect is white and in his 20s. The second suspect is black with lighter skin and also in his 20s. If you can identify either of them, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. All calls are anonymous and there is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest.
WANTED IN SEATTLE —
Detectives are hoping you can help a carjacking suspect who forced an elderly woman out of her vehicle at gunpoint.
Take a good look at surveillance video below from the Ballard Fred Meyer that shows the suspect. He walks into the store after the robbery, wearing a powder blue hoodie with white trim, black nylon pants and black converse shoes with white soles. He has a dark green backpack in the grocery cart.
Police say he was armed with a black handgun that he used to stick right into the side of a woman in a 7-Eleven parking lot when she opened her door to pour out a cup of water. He ordered her out of the vehicle forcing her to leave her purse behind.
Later that day, patrol officers found video of him driving her gold Volvo. “You’re going to see the actual vehicle driving down the street and being parked,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “Then you are going to observe him getting out of the vehicle. Hes’ got a blue parka on. He’s got a blue backpack and he just nonchalantly walks away from the scene. This guys a carjacker and a despicable person in my opinion.”
The camera outside the Fred Meyer picked him up after he dumped the car walking along the sidewalk to go the store where detectives say he tried to use the victim's credit cards.
Seattle Police think the suspect is black, in his 30's or 40's with dark skin, a medium afro and full beard.

WANTED IN KING COUNTY —
It’s a tale of two women who couldn’t be more different:
On the one hand, you have Deanna Powell: A felon with convictions in Pierce and King counties for drugs, dangerous weapons, and felony hit and run, who has a $1,000,000 warrant for her arrest.
On the other hand: A hard working mother to three teenagers who once represented the very best of our state on a national level.
When their two lives collided — literally – it left one woman seriously injured and forever changed, the other on the run, thinking only of herself.
“The accident goes through my mind every time I go through the intersection.” Nine months after Sara Mills’ car in Federal Way was rammed by Powell in an Isuzu Rodeo, Sara still struggles to walk. “My right leg was completely shattered.” Nerves and tissue crushed, bones broken. She now has a titanium rod in it and gets exhausted easily as she learned when she took her three kids to the state fair. “Three years ago. I ran a half marathon, now I can’t even walk through two passes through the carnival area because it’s too much pain, there’s too much swelling.”
Then there was the emotional trauma with months in rehab and a lot of very, very dark thoughts. "There were moments when I wished they had cut my leg off and that's the honesty of it. I was in so much pain, I figured I could get along without it."
Powell had just been released from the Pierce County Jail a few hours earlier when she made a left turn, causing the collision with Sara's Toyota. "Our suspect in the case, she not only didn't stick around for the accident but she didn't provide aid for the person that she hit like she should have, driver's license, registration, any of that. she just fled the scene," said King County Sgt. Cindi West. Powell’s actions left Sara in disbelief, “The sheer fact that she could run tells me she was well enough to see if I was ok."
To understand how devastating this has been you have to know a little history. Sara was Miss Emerald City in 1995, Miss Washington in 1997 and competed in the Miss USA Pageant, spending hours learning how to compete in heels. "Here it was, this flawless perfection and my leg will never be that way again. Ever," Sara says.
But Sara is a woman of faith and that's helped keep her going. Faith that was challenged a bit when she learned the court accidentally released Powell in August on the day she was supposed to go to prison after pleading guilty to the hit and run. "I'm like, you what? You what? Eight months have gone by for me to get justice and you what?" Sgt. West explains, "Apparently, she had other charges that she was in jail for and was released on those and was released by the courts before they realized she had been sentenced to a year so there was a slight gap in that information being passed on.”
Sara's worried now that Powell is going to hurt someone else. "There's no part of me that doubts that. She has a complete disregard for human life."
Because of her injuries, Sara has missed out on a lot of important family time, finances have been stretched, there's been stress dealing with lawyers and insurance companies and medical bills and she's still at least a year away from fully recovering. "Just to walk up the stairs to sit at my desk is a painful day."
But she's doing her best to stay strong, to set a good example, to be the supermom again. She feels blessed to be alive. "I live each day trying to make the most out of what I do have and showing other people you might have tragedy and you can rise above it."
It's time for Deanna Powell to face justice. She’s headed down a very bad path, her first step towards redemption is to serve her year in jail. Her family is worried about her and say she's not even keeping in touch with her mom.
If you can tell King County deputies where to find her, call an anonymous tip into:
