TR-CITIES — Officers in the Tri-Cities are asking for the public’s help to find convicted child rapist Noel Garcia. The 32-year-old is an unregistered sex offender and High Violent offender that is now running from the State Department of Corrections and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for warrants for Escape and for a new Failure to Register as a Sex Offender charge that is being issued for his arrest.  noel-garcia

Garcia has been ordered to stay away from children because of a Rape of a Child conviction he has from 2004. “Recent information passed on to the Department of Corrections Officers shows that he is still not abiding by this as a school counselor spotted Mr. Garcia on school grounds recently and called it in,” said DOC Officer Ross Esparza. He was gone by the time officers responded to arrest him.

Garcia has 5 prior felony convictions for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. “It’s pretty obvious this sex offender does not care about the law or his requirements to register. He has 2 additional Felony Warrants out of Franklin County for non-compliance of court issues there as well,” said Officer Esparza.   garcia-side

His last known address was in Pasco, WA but officers say he is no longer there and they believe family and friends are helping him hide by not cooperating. Garcia has ties to the entire Tri-City area as well as the lower Yakima Valley. He could be in Grandview, Sunnyside or Yakima as well as anywhere in between.  His criminal history includes Theft 2 and 3, Residential Burglar, Malicious Mischief and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.

Garcia is 5’11” and 185 pounds. If you can tell officers where to find him, call Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. All calls are anonymous and there is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to his arrest.

‘Everyone is broken-hearted’: Reward offered for tips to solve Kent man’s murder

KENT -- A Kent man’s family is talking publicly for the first time about his murder in hopes somebody will come forward to identify the killer. "Everyone is broken hearted and sad about him, what happened,” said Kathreen Macantalay, the victim’s niece. On Friday, August 26th just before 9pm, 37-year-old Inacio Nein and his nephew were sitting on a log listening to music in a wooded area between SE 242nd and SE 244th near the 10800 block in Kent’s East Hill when a gunman approached them.

The suspect described as a black man, 18 years of age, 6’ tall, medium build with “puffy” looking 1” long black hair asked what was in their pockets and started reaching toward them. The nephew was able to push the suspect’s hands away but was struck in the side of the head with the gun. He was knocked incoherent and fell to the ground. The suspect then fired several shots toward Nein who died at the scene.  The victim’s nephew was able to run away to call police.  Officers were on another call nearby. “The cops responding to the scene even heard those shots but that tells you how fast this suspect got away which tells me he`s probably familiar with the area,” said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound who is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who can identify the killer.

Macantalay says her family is still in shock over the murder of her uncle. "He told me I better graduate because he will be there on my graduation,” she said. She’s devastated just like Nein’s cousin who is having a hard time believing he’s gone. "I feel weak when I heard it. I thought he's not dead,” said Kathy Enther.  They say Nein was a fun guy who loved to tell jokes and sing. “He would always sit in front of our old car, the black one that was always parked, and he would always be playing the Ukelele,” said Macantalay.

Kent Police have put up Crime Stoppers posters on businesses and apartment complexes near the murder scene and are hoping the $1,000 reward leads to a good tip. “This guy out on the loose has a gun. That means he`s dangerous. He`s also wanted for homicide. He`s not gonna stop and just hand himself in. Somebody knows where he`s at and that information’s important,” said Ret. Det Carner. Crucial even to helping Nein’s family get justice.  "I hope he realize what he did was wrong,” said Macantalay.

If you have any information that could identify a suspect in the case, call the hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit the information at http://www.crimestoppers.com.  You will never be asked to give your name as it is completely anonymous.

Edmonds hit-and-run victim still in pain nearly a year later, pleads for driver to turn self in

EDMONDS, Wash. — Life will never be the same for Viora Mayoba, a mother of three who was severely injured in a hit and run accident on Highway 99 in Edmonds almost a year ago.

Mayoba is now sharing her story in hopes it will help find the driver.

“I see one doctor for my eye, one doctor for my head, one doctor for my jaw, one doctor for my leg and one doctor for my back,” said Mayoba.

This is the new reality for Mayoba, who struggles with simple tasks like sitting up or typing on a computer.

“I fractured my back,” said Mayoba. “I broke my left leg because the car hit me here and this leg was this big.”

Mayoba received those injuries on a foggy November day in 2015, while trying to wipe off her frosted windshield on Highway 99 in Edmonds. The moments that followed would change her life forever.

“I couldn’t, I didn’t remember much else, ‘cause I was hit so hard that I flew from my car, I went up and then I came down and hit the ground with high-velocity impact,” said Mayoba.

A car hit Mayoba that night and just kept going, and Mayoba lay in a coma for days, her family wondering if she’d live.

Edmonds Police hoped damage left at the scene would help them find the driver.

“Based on the collision, we believe the driver would certainly know that they’d hit someone,” said Sgt. Shane Hawley with the Edmonds Police Department.

But 10 months later, police say they still don’t have the driver.

“We’re still trying to find out who this driver is and all of our leads have gone cold,” saidHawley. “We’re looking for the driver of a black 2006 to 2010 Dodge Charger. This is a hit-and-run suspect.”

For Mayoba, she says writing brings her a sense of peace. She’s written two books since the accident.

“I find strength in writing,” said Mayoba. “I spend most of my time on this little laptop right here.”

While finding the driver won’t heal her physical pains, she hopes it will heal her emotional ones.

“I want him to be found and not necessarily for me, but for the public out there,” said Mayoba.

Again, Edmonds Police believe the hit and run car is a black mid 2000's Dodge Charger with damage to the front fender, grill, headlights and fog lights.

If you can tell Edmonds detectives anything about the car, where it is or who may have been driving it that night last November 29, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.

pumaWANTED IN SEATTLE —
The video below of a crook in action demonstrates just how bold thieves can be.

It was taken just after 10am on Saturday, September 3rd from a camera on Spring St. in Seattle and it shows a car prowler detectives are trying to identify. You can see him come up to the vehicle and look in the window and then he walks over to the meter on the sidewalk where he acts like he’s going to pay for parking. A few seconds later he heads back to the vehicle, he uses something to quickly break open the window and just like that he steals a woman’s purse, walking around the back of the vehicle holding it like it belongs to him.

“When you live in a large metropolitan area and you’re downtown shopping or doing other things, remove all the valuable items out of view. Hide them. Take them with you, but never leave them in plain view,” urges Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.

The good news is that Seattle police have a really good shot of his face.

He's about 6’0” with a thin build and he's wearing a grey Puma jacket and a hat with an 'R' logo on the front.

Seattle Police find devastated victim’s stolen car; ‘Smooth-talking’ suspect still wanted

UPDATE — Seattle Police have located Meredith Thompson’s stolen grey Honda. The thief had switched her Washington license plate for a plate from Colorado. The vehicle is being processed for fingerprints and then will be returned to her. The suspect has not been arrested.

SEATTLE  —  One look at the surveillance video from the Desert Sun Tanning Salon in West Seattle, and it appears as though the two women are really hitting it off.

Problem is; the employee, on the left, Meredith Thompson, doesn’t realize she’s the hit and the woman on the right is about to take off with her purse and her car!

“A woman came into my salon about 7:30 p.m. and it was getting dark, she was by herself, she said she was waiting for a ride,” says Meredith.

Meredith let the woman stay to wait for her ride.  She says the woman chatted her up about all kinds of topics.  At one point, Meredith walks away from the front desk to clean a bed and that’s when investigators say the smooth-talker becomes a smooth criminal.

“All my years of working, few people come to mind of being a really smooth crook. This is one of them,” says retired Seattle police detective Myrle Carner of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.

“You can see her look to see how far back I am and then she just runs, grabs the purse, puts it on the counter and comes over here. Then she hides it next to the water machine,” says Meredith.

When Meredith returns, the woman continues chatting with Meredith’s purse sitting just at her feet.

Unaware, Meredith keeps working and when she returns, the woman is gone.  The same surveillance camera also captured Meredith’s car from the parking lot. The headlights turn on and the car drives away.

“Once she leaves the tanning salon, now she steals the victim’s car. We really want to put her in custody, in jail, where she belongs,” says Carner.

While Seattle police are investigating, Meredith says she’s learned a tough lesson.

“I have to have my guard up now, because the second I let it down, something like this happens,” she says.

Meredith’s car is a 2003 gray Honda Accord coupe with license number BBF4427.

If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.  There is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to her arrest and the return of the stolen car.

KING COUNTY – Kent Police say Marlon Lemafa was convicted of two counts of Assault in the First Degree.  Sentencing is scheduled for October 28 at 2 p.m. before Judge LeRoy McCullough in courtroom 4A of the Maleng Regional Justice Center.

KENT —  A suspect has been arrested in an attack on two men outside the After 5 Sports Bar in Kent in December 2015. King County Prosecutors charged Marlon Lemafa today with two counts of Assault in the 1st Degree.

Kent Police Det. Melanie Robinson arrested him Tuesday after he was identified by numerous Washington’s Most Wanted viewer tips to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound from surveillance video.

Lemafa is accused of severely beating two men during the attack. One victim has permanent blindness in his eye and the other had a skull fracture.  Lemafa had a previous conviction for Assault in the 3rd Degree in 2013.

He is being held on $250,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on June 30th. Lemafa is WMW Capture #784.

ORIGINAL STORY - Two men are still recovering from serious injuries after they were attacked by a gun-wielding man outside the 'After 5 Sports Bar' in the Panther Lake area of Kent on December 13th.  ""Some type of altercation occurred and there were multiple fights that were going on within the parking lot," said Kent Police Det. Melanie Robinson.

Black and white surveillance video shows one man leave the melee and retrieve a gun from the trunk of his car.  It's described as a 2008 Dodge Charger with distinctive rims and tinted windows.  He appears to be a light skinned, mixed race man in his 20's wearing a dark colored vest, dark jeans and snow hat.  He was driving a 2008 Dodge Charger with distinctive rims and tinted windows. It's possible red in color but investigators don't know that for sure. Investigators are hoping someone can identify him. Kent-Bar-Assault Kent main suspect

He returned to the fight and took a swing at one man before falling down himself and getting punched. He gets back up and points the gun at the victim driving him away.  As the fight spreads to a different area of the parking lot, video shows the suspect come up behind several men and attack two of them.   "He cold-cocked and punched one individual. He was knocked out and then real quick again punched a second individual. He's knocked out and hits his head on the curb which causes significant injuries to this individuals skull," said Det. Robinson. The injuries were so severe one victim may be blind in his left eye for life. The other had multiple fractures to his head and face.

Investigators are also trying to identify a man with a ponytail who had his shirt off. He was riding with the main suspect.  "We don't have a lot of information but I really think that by looking at the surveillance video we can get some great tips  and there are some other individuals who we would really like to talk to so we are hoping the community can help us with that," said Det. Robinson.  Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 if you can identify the main suspect or help solve this case.  You never have to give your name. The FBI is asking for help tracking down two men charged with sex trafficking who might be in the Seattle area.

Aaron M. Barnes, 33, and Kamau Curnal, 28, are both charged with one count of sex trafficking of a child and one count of transportation of a minor for the purpose of prostitution following an investigation in Oregon.

An indictment alleges that Barnes and Curnal drove an underage victim from Portland to Seattle as part of a trafficking operation.

The FBI said both men have extensive ties to Seattle.

“Kamau and Aaron are believed to be ‘armed and dangerous’ and given their gang affiliations, anyone who has information about them, we’re asking them to call law enforcement right away. Do not approach them, move out of the vicinity of them,” says Ayn Sandalo-Dietrich with the FBI. “These are bad guys, because they’re somebody who convinced a minor to travel across state lines and engage in prostitution. They’re manipulative, they’re terrifying and we need to get them off the street.”

Barnes is 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds with quite a few tattoos, including one on his arm that says “sleepless.”

Angela Meeker missing: Reward now $20,000 to help solve mystery of Tacoma teen who vanished on way to mall

$

TACOMA — The FBI is hoping a new $20,000 reward will encourage someone to come forward with information to solve a mystery in Tacoma.

Angela Meeker would be 51 years old now. She was just two days shy of her 14th birthday when she went missing in 1979.

Tacoma Police Det. Lindsey Wade says Meeker was walking to the Tacoma Mall to buy a birthday card for a friend when she disappeared on July 7th. “We believe that there are people out there who have information on what happened to Angie. There’s quite a few people we know that she associated with and so at this point they are just going and trying to contact as many of those people as possible.”

The last confirmed sighting came from an acquaintance who said he gave her a ride and dropped her off by the Payless store.

"We really rely on people coming forward who may have even spoken to investigators originally," said FBI Special Agent Terry Postma

The FBI’s South Sound Cold Case Working Group in Pierce County is helping to put the pieces together of what happened 37 years ago. “I think anytime that you bring in additional investigators and have a fresh look at a case file, that's always helpful," said FBI Supervisory Special Agent Kelly Smith

So far, everyone they've talked to remembers Angie because of her spunky personality. "

“She had a little bit of history of maybe running away for a couple of days or being away from home for a couple of days at a time but she would always come back," added Special Agent Postma.

Investigators think the $20,000 reward may help solve the mystery or lead them to her recovery. "We're just hoping that that may motivate somebody who was otherwise reluctant to come forward to actually call us," adds Det. Wade.

If you know anything that can help investigators find out what happened to Angela Meeker in Tacoma, please call an anonymous tip into:

ORIGINAL WMW CASE December 11, 2015 --
It was almost four decades ago that a teenage girl went missing in Tacoma after heading to the mall.

Detectives continue to search for answers in her disappearance and they're hoping you can help find her.

“The fact that she was 13 and literally just disappeared off the face of the earth is unusual,” says Tacoma Police  Det. Lindsey Wade. She's talking about Angela Meeker, who vanished two days before her 14th birthday on July 7, 1979. Wade says, “She was headed to the Tacoma Mall to purchase a birthday card for a friend and that was the last time she was seen by any of her family members.” But, a friend says he saw her on the road. “An acquaintance of hers was interviewed and he actually reported that he ran into Angie on her way to the mall and gave her a ride and said that he dropped her off in the area of the Payless store.”

No one ever heard from her again.

“There was a party scheduled for later in the evening, a birthday party for Angela and another friend and Angela didn’t show up to the party and none of the party-goers reported seeing her at the party or any time after that,” detective Wade explains.

And because Angela was known to run away and stay gone for a couple of days at a time she wasn’t reported missing until three days later.

But police don’t believe that Angela just took off. Wade says, “We had another case that occurred about six months later, not too far from here and it was another 13 year old girl who went missing and was found murdered 12 days later and that case is also unsolved.”

Police have persons of interest, but have been unable to link them to any crime. They also haven’t been able to claim any remains discovered in the area. “We have her dental records, we have DNA and we have had no matches,” Wade adds.

For Angela’s family, that signals hope that she could still be alive. “I know the family always wants to hold out hope that their loved one is still out there. It’s been 36 years since she went missing and she was just a young girl. It’s hard to imagine a scenario where would she be and what would she be doing all this time, but you just never know,” Wade says.

She has taken over this missing person's mystery and has a special request for those who knew this teenage girl, saying “If there are people who knew Angie that might have any information about what was going on in her life at the time, relationships she was in, if they have any information or even speculation about what happened to her, I’d be interested in hearing about it.”

Angela would be 50 years old now.

She was 5'1" and 100 pounds at the time of her disappearance with hazel eyes and blonde hair.

KILLER WANTED IN SEATTLE August 29, 2016 --
Seattle Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a double homicide suspect who is seen on surveillance video before the shootings on March 30.

“We’re looking for a guy who really has no gumption about taking someone’s life,” said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.

According to witnesses, the suspect was dropped off in the alley east of the place where the victims were found in the 400 block of 2nd Avenue Ext. S.

The car appears to be a silver- or champagne-colored late-model 4-door Buick with a sunroof.

According to a witness, the Washington license plate may have started with “AT” or similar to those letters .

“In the video, you’re going to see a suspect vehicle at first. It’s going down an alley at a relatively slow speed. You’re going to see brake lights come on, then you’re going to see a lone person get out of the car, which we figure is the shooter in this double homicide," Carner said.

After shooting both victims, the suspect got back into the waiting vehicle and fled the scene. He’s described as black, about 6-foot-2 and wearing a flat-brimmed ball cap with an identified logo on the front and ripped jeans.

“We pay a thousand dollars for a reward on a homicide. We’re going to pay $1,000 for each of the victims in the case so if you call the hotline and you solve this case, you’re going to be eligible for $2,000,” said Carner.

If you can identify the suspect or have any information that can help Seattle homicide detectives solve the case, call the Crime Stoppers hotline anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit the tip online at www.crimestoppers.com.
