Ruthless rest stop prowlers: Help ID couple seen using credit cards stolen from cars while victims used restroom

WANTED BY WASHINGTON STATE PATROL —
A warning from the Washington State Patrol: Beware of thieves lurking at rest stops.

Troopers are asking for your help to identify a couple after two women had their car windows smashed-out when they stopped to use the restroom along the I-5 freeway in Federal Way.

Within hours, the suspects were using the victims’ stolen credit cards. “She came into a Battery Plus store and she walked up to the counter and looked like she was going to try to buy a battery or something to test the credit card most likely, said WSP Trooper Rick Johnson.

The woman had reddish-brown hair that troopers are hoping somebody recognizes. “You see her at the counter and you can see, by her body language, she’s not very happy, you will see that ultimately the credit card was declined.”

That’s because the owner had canceled it after it was stolen during a car prowl on March 12th at the northbound Federal Way rest area.

“These individuals are looking for a crime of opportunity, ‘Smash and Grab,’ where they see somebody pull in. They know they are going to the bathroom. They are basically casing the parking lot,” adds Trooper Johnson.

Just two and a half hours later, detectives say the same woman and a man were seen at Safeway on 320th in Federal Way and at the gas pumps. “In the video, you see the male suspect kind of fidgeting around the car. They were driving a tan-gold Chrysler Town & Country with a mis-matched right, front wheel. You see her go in and talk to the cashier. Troopers say she used the card to pay for  gas and sundries while he stayed outside. “To me, in looking at the video, he`s nervous. It appeared to me that he kept looking inside where she was, probably trying to see is this card is going to work. He can`t sit still."

Eventually, she comes out. He pumps the gas while she gets on her phone. Troopers say the suspects also tried to use one of the stolen cards at a Walmart store.

“This is something that is going to continue to occur especially with these two individuals,” Trooper Johnson says. “We really would like to get them captured and also to let the victims know that this is what we`re doing. We`re using Washington’s Most Wanted to help us with this because it`s a great avenue to get this out there.'

Again, she had reddish-brown hair.

He was dressed in black and had short facial hair.

It's possible they had a child in the van, but troopers don't know for sure.

If you know either of their names, Crime Stoppers will pay you a cash reward of up to $1,000 if it leads to their arrest.

Call the hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS, or submit the information using the P3 Tips App on your phone.

“The violence that they have engaged in is alarming,” said Det. James Tolbert. “They’ve been involved in home invasion robberies. All their crimes are involving firearms. They’ve been involved in drive-by shootings and at least one of the suspect vehicles that we were looking for had bullet holes in it. Most of them have been picked up. This one has eluded capture. WANTED IN KING COUNTY —
Take a look at the thieves who broke into a home in Redmond in the middle of the day.

This was on NE 97th Pl. on April 5th.

King County detectives say the woman climbed through a window at the back of the home that had been left unlocked and then opened the door for her partner in crime.

They pulled up in a 2012 Honda Civic with a right, front wheel that was mismatched.

Detectives say the crooks got away with more than $25,000 worth of the victim’s property including several cameras, electronics, designer bags, shoes and jewelry.

"We got a phone call from the victim who was watching the burglary remotely through her security device,” said King County Sgt. Jason Escobar. “She was able to see the female suspect and mail suspect inside her home committing the burglary and they stole several high end electronics and jewelry. We are concerned that they may do this again. Who knows. It might lead to a violent crime and the homeowner might come home and interrupt them. It could lead to something far worse than a burglary.”

Detectives say the woman is white, in her 20's with blond hair, 5'7", 135 pounds and was wearing a “Just Do It” shirt under a black hooded jacket with pink lining, grey leggings and tennis shoes.

The male suspect is also white, in his 20's, with short-cropped brown hair, 5'10", 190 pounds and wearing a grey beanie with a black pompom, a black North Face hooded jacket, holey jeans and dark shoes.

If you can tell King County detectives their names, use the P3 Tips App to submit your information to Crime Stoppers, or call the hotline anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.

‘Mustache-Changing Bank Bandit:’ Help ID serial armed robbery suspect wanted for heists in three separate cities

WANTED IN TACOMA, KENT and OLYMPIA —
Police and the U.S. Marshals say this suspect is wanted for three bank robberies in Tacoma, Kent and Olympia.

We’re dubbing him the ‘Mustache-Changing Bank Bandit,’ because he was clean-shaven in the Tacoma heist, but had a thin mustache for the Kent heist and a thicker one for the Olympia robbery.

In the Tacoma case, he terrified the bank teller. “He had a handgun concealed under his jacket,” describes Tacoma Police Ofc. Loretta Cool. “He entered, went directly to the teller and said, ‘Give me all the money.’ He put the money into his pockets and then he fled the area. He certainly is ‘armed and dangerous.’ He entered a bank with a gun. He used that gun to commit a crime, which means that he wouldn’t probably hesitate to use the gun again.”

Detectives think he’s white, in his late 50’s, 5’11” and between 230 and 270 pounds. He sometimes wears glasses.

If you recognize him, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or use the P3 Tips App to submit your information.

FUGITIVE CAPTURED April 17, 2017 —
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says wanted fugitive, Diego Cano, was arrested Monday morning after he was found hiding in a home east of Moses Lake.

The sheriff’s office says, acting on a tip, Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team at around 2:30 a.m. confirmed Cano was hiding at a home on Road T-Northeast just north of Baseline Road East about 10 miles east of Moses Lake. Officers then surrounded the home and began ordering Cano to come out. Cano refused, and after an hours-long standoff was coaxed out of the house by flash-bang concussion grenades deployed by the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team. He then surrendered without further incident.

Moses Lake Police, Grant County Sheriff’s deputies and K-9 unit were also on scene.

Cano was booked into the Grant County Jail for investigation of armed robbery and unlawful imprisonment.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says Warden Police extend their thanks to the partnering law enforcement agencies, to Washington’s Most Wanted which widely publicized the hunt for Cano, and to watchful citizens who sent in tips on Cano’s possible whereabouts.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN WARDEN March 31, 2017 —
Held hostage for five hours by a neighbor and his violent friends: Detectives say a Grant County man was beaten and then stabbed in the stomach.

All but one of the suspects have been arrested — so now — Warden Police are hoping you can help them find the final fugitive, Diego Cano.

He’s wanted for armed robbery and unlawful imprisonment. He is considered ‘armed and dangerous.’

Detectives say the victim’s horror started last weekend when he said ‘no’ to giving Cano and the other suspects a ride. Seems they didn’t like his answer and held him hostage in a camper. After the beating him and robbing him and attacking him with a knife attack, detectives say the suspects let the victim go — but threatened to shoot-up his house with his family inside if he went to the police.

Diego Cano is from Othello in Adams County and detectives say he was last seen in the small town of Marlin located about halfway between Soap Lake and Odessa.

He’s 42 years old, 5’7”and weighs 185 pounds.

He has a tattoo of a diamond-type clown covering his right eye.

If you know where he’s hiding, call 911 or submit the information to crimetips@grantcountywa.gov.

UPDATE — April 18, 2017
Accused child predator, Shawn Morgan, was booked into the Pierce County Jail on a new Child Molestation charge on Friday.

He’s being held on $250,000 bail.

UPDATE — December 28, 2016
Shawn Morgan — charged with multiple crimes related to raping and molesting children and possessing child pornography — posted $100,000 bail and was released from the Pierce County jail on Tuesday.

Shawn Morgan stands charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation; two counts of first-degree child rape; 47 counts of first-degree possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct; unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance; unlawful possession of ammonia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine; and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

“This case is actually something that is shocking when you read the details,” Pierce County sheriff’s Det. Ed Troyer said earlier this year.

After Morgan’s arrest earlier this year, his girlfriend agreed to give a statement regarding her knowledge of additional victims.

Kierra Hall told investigators that Morgan wanted her to drug a child who was 5 or 6 years old with heroin, but she refused.

Hall alleges he then took the girl into a spare bedroom in a Parkland travel trailer, where she could hear the child screaming and crying.

Court records show investigators found videos and photos on a CD, USB drive, several memory cards and a laptop during a search warrant of Morgan’s trailer that showed infants and young girls being sexually assaulted by adults.

Hall, Morgan’s girlfriend, is in the Pierce County jail awaiting trial for child molestation and child rape

“Nothing is more important than protecting our children,” Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said earlier this year. “The defendant could spend the rest of his life in prison if convicted.”

UPDATE — December 20, 2016
Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist has charged Shawn Morgan with Child Molestation First Degree.  The case stems from a 2012 investigation in which victim was a 5-6 year old girl.  The case was referred to the prosecutor’s office in 2012 for charging but the mother of the victim changed her phone number and could not be located at the time.

After Morgan’s arrest earlier this year,  his girlfriend agreed to give a statement regarding her knowledge of additional victims.  Kierra Hall told investigators Morgan wanted her to drug the child with heroin but she refused.  Hall claims he then took the girl into a spare bedroom where she could hear the child screaming and crying.

He currently has 3 open charged cases in Pierce County Superior Court:  2 counts Rape Child First Degree, 2 counts Child Molest First Degree; Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance,  Unlawful Possession of Ammonia with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and  47 counts Possession of Depictions of Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct First Degree

UPDATE — October 12, 2016 — Shawn Morgan has been released from the Pierce County jail. His bail was reduced to $200,000.

UPDATE – August 29, 2016  — Shawn Morgan is being held on $1,000,000 bail in the Pierce County jail charged with 47 counts of possessing child porn. Court records show investigators found videos and photos on a CD, USB drive, several memory cards and a laptop during a search warrant of Morgan’s trailer that show  infants and young girls being sexually assaulted by adults.  The actual charge is RCW 9.68A.070 possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.  Morgan was arraigned on Aug. 22nd.  “Nothing is more important than protecting our children,” said Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist. “The defendant could spend the rest of his life in prison if convicted,” he added.

Morgan was featured last April on Washington’s Most Wanted after he was charged with two counts of Rape of a Child in the 1st degree and two counts of Child Molestation in the 1st degree last April. He surrendered four days later and then posted bond and was released.  Pierce County deputies say that between June of 2014 and September of 2015, Morgan and his then girlfriend, Kierra Hall, sexually assaulted a young child on numerous occasions inside a travel trailer in Parkland. Hall is in jail charged with 3 counts of rape of a child 1st degree and child molestation 1st degree. She is cooperating in the investigation according to court documents.

Shawn Morgan surrendered and was booked into the Pierce County Jail on Monday afternoon.

There is an active felony warrant for Morgan’s arrest for two counts of Rape of a Child in the 1st degree and two counts of Child Molestation in the 1st degree.  “This case is actually something that is shocking when you read the details and somebody who’s this graphic and this violent as to what he’s done to the victim needs to be picked up because there’s probably other victims out there. If there aren’t yet, there will be,” said Det. Ed Troyer.

Pierce County deputies say that between June of 2014 and September of 2015, Morgan and his then girlfriend sexually assaulted a young child on numerous occasions inside a travel trailer in Parkland.  Kierra Hall has already been arrested and charged with 3 counts of rape of a child 1st degree and child molestation 1st degree. FUGITIVE CAPTURED April 18, 2017 —
Seattle Police say shooting suspect, Alrick Hollingsworth, was arrested on Tuesday night and booked into the King County Jail.

Detectives say a youth counselor who knows Hollingsworth convinced him to surrender.

He’s being held on $1 million bail.

FUGITIVE UPDATE March 31, 2017 —
Seattle Police detectives say there is new information on the hunt for Alrick Hollingsworth, who’s accused of firing into a crowd of people in downtown Seattle.

“The update is that he’s been seen in the the Kent area,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “So, that tells us that he’s either got friends over there, or it’s somewhere he’s hiding. He definitely has been there. He’s been spotted, so we need your help. If you know anywhere this guy’s located, or who he’s running with, you need to call the hotline and right away.”

FUGITIVE WANTED IN SEATTLE November 23, 2016 –
It was a typical Wednesday night at a bus stop near Third Avenue and Pine Street in Westlake on November 9 when suddenly…

“You’ll actually see this suspect raise his hand, turn his back, and as he’s walking backwards he’s firing rounds into the crowd,” said Myrle Carner, of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.

People duck and try to hide after hearing the gunshots.  Everyone except for the suspect, who police say is 18-year-old Alrick Hollingsworth Jr., running down the sidewalk in the middle of your screen from the 7-Eleven to the McDonald’s.

“There’s even small children down the way,” said Carner.

You can see a woman shielding the child as the suspect rounds the corner at Third Avenue and Pine Street.

“At one point, he’s running by police officers who are running toward the scene who still don’t have a suspect description,” said Carner.

Police say the suspect came rushing through Westlake, took off his jacket, and put it in a trash can. They recovered it as evidence.

“He’s trying to do a lot of things to get away,” said Carner.

In his wake…

“A lot of people down, a lot of people crying, a lot of people in shock,” said 7-Eleven manager Sharon Keith.

We spoke to Keith shortly after the shooting.

“It sounded like firecrackers and I knew it was gunshots and I told everybody to get down and I locked the doors and looked out and I saw multiple people down, bleeding,” said Keith.

One of the men down was 26-year-old Jesse Baker, who was taken to Harborview Medical Center with the other four victims.  At the time, he was in bad shape and unable to talk after being shot in the neck and back.

“All I knew was that my brother was down there and he was fighting for his life,” said the victim’s sister, Rayya Baker.

But now, his family says he's out of the hospital, back home, and recovering just in time for Thanksgiving.

“We’re fortunate we’re not talking about a homicide,” said Carner.

Even though Hollingsworth has no criminal record, because of the brazen act, he has a $1 million outstanding warrant for his arrest because, police say,  he’s armed and dangerous.

“We’re going to pay you a good chunk of cash to turn this guy in.  He should not be on the street,” said Carner.

SEATTLE -- Seattle police say three officers were shot Thursday afternoon after responding to a reported robbery.

The shooting occurred near Madison Street and Western Avenue around 1:30 p.m.

One male officer, 30, and one female officer, 42, were taken to Harborview Medical Center, according to Seattle police. The male officer was shot in the chin and chest and was listed at the hospital in serious condition, as of 6:40 p.m. The female officer was struck in the chest, but was wearing a bulletproof vest, and was listed in satisfactory condition; she was released from the hospital Thursday night.

A third officer officer was grazed and suffered a hand injury. He was treated and released from the hospital, police said.

A viewer captured the moment officers carried their fellow officer from a building.

A 19-year-old male suspect was killed and a 17-year-old female suspect was apprehended, police said. The Seattle Police Department announced hours later that a third suspect, a 19-year-old male, had been taken into custody shortly after 6 p.m.

Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment

Police said that at 1:18 p.m., officers were called to a robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store in the 600 block of 1st Avenue after a two suspects—a 17-year-old female and a 19-year-old male armed with a handgun—robbed the store and fled north on 1st Avenue.

"Officers caught up to the suspects within minutes. A struggle ensued and a male officer was struck in the head with a bottle. The male suspect ran to the entryway of an office building in the 900 block of 1st Avenue, where he exchanged gunfire with police. Three officers were struck by gunfire during the incident.

"SPD officers moved their injured colleagues to safety and, set up a perimeter around the building as employees inside were ordered to shelter-in-place.
After clearing pedestrians and motorists from the surrounding streets, SWAT officers entered the building to search for the suspect and any other injured people. During the search, officers found the male suspect, who was deceased."

"Police arrested the 17-year-old female suspect near the building and, after receiving conflicting information, identified a second 19-year-old male involved in the robbery. Police located and arrested the man" at about 6 p.m.

"While the department can confirm that officers did fire their weapons during the incident, the cause of the male suspect’s death will be determined and released by the King County Medical Examiner," the SPD said.

Mayor Ed Murray said he met with both wounded police officers.

"Their attitude was great, they were both smiling, they are speaking, they are with family," Murray said.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN TACOMA, KENT and OLYMPIA April 14, 2017 —
