UPDATE -- The convicted felon who attacked a store clerk with a knife at the Chevron Service Station on Purdy Drive in Gig Harbor on March 11, 2018 has been sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison.

33-year-old Eric Pondelick pleaded guilty on September 10th to Robbery in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree and Assault in the First Degree.  According to court documents, he was identified by multiple tips to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.  Pondelick was arrested by a Kitsap County Sheriff's deputy during  domestic violence incident.

His 14 prior criminal convictions include Robbery 1st Degree in Kitsap County as well as Theft 2nd Degree and Forgery plus Burglary in Seattle.

TACOMA, Wash. -- Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public's help to ID a robber with a blade who tried to stab a store clerk on Sunday at the Chevron gas station on Purdy Drive NW in Gig Harbor.

"This guy's absolutely jacked up when he comes in and you can tell he's tweaking on something," Pierce County Sheriff's Detective Ed Troyer said.

At 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, he entered the store wearing orange shoes and a matching orange ECKO T-shirt. He went behind the counter and demanded the clerk give him cash from the register. The suspect then made multiple attempts to slash the clerk with the knife as the victim tried to defend himself from being stabbed.

"The store clerk picks up a chair and defends himself as he's lunging at him and going at him with the knife," Troyer said.

The two struggled toward the register.

"Luckily, the store clerk is able to negotiate something to calm him down just a little bit," Troyer said.

The suspect then took the cash and ran out of the business.

He is described as a white man in his early 20s, about 6-foot-2 with a medium build. He appears to have a large black tattoo on his upper chest of either waves or flames that is just visible at the edge of his shirt collar.

If you have any information on who this suspect is, please contact Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). They are offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads to his arrest.

Sketch released by King County Sheriff’s Office

KING COUNTY, Wash. — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who tried to kidnap a 16-year-old girl between Kent and Federal Way.

According to King County Sgt. Ryan Abbott, just before midnight on Aug. 13 the girl was jogging in the area of South 272nd Street and 42nd Avenue South. Abbott said the victim turned a corner and saw a man standing outside of a black SUV.

Abbott gave this account of what happened next:

“The suspect grabbed the victim’s throat and was able to push her into the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The suspect got the victim’s pants partially down and tried to keep her in the vehicle. The victim struggled, kicking the suspect, and he fell down.  The victim was screaming and honking the vehicles horn. The victim said she was able to scratch the suspects face. When the suspect got back up from falling he tried to grab the victim again. The suspect grabbed the victim and she took off her sweatshirt to get away. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s leg and her shoe came off. The victim was able to run away and flag down a passing vehicle for help.”

The suspect is described as a white male, 6′ 2″ tall, about 50-55 years old, with salt-and-pepper shoulder-length hair, wearing all dark clothing.

The car was described as an older dark 4-door SUV similar to a Toyota 4Runner.

If you know who the suspect is, use the P3 Tips App on your phone to submit the information to Crime Stoppers anonymously, or call the hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS. You’ll get a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip helps lead to his arrest.

MORTON, Wash. -- Calling their actions despicable and unacceptable, police are asking for the public's help to identify two men who stole backpacks belonging to students from Morton Junior-Senior High School.

Surveillance video from 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 shows the thieves pull up in a late 90s red and white Chevy pickup truck, jump out and take the backpacks left by kids inside the gym practicing sports.

"This was a pretty brazen, cowardly act and it affects our kids directly and it affects our community," said Morton Police Chief Roger Morningstar.

"They stole not just their gym bags and their homework. They took their phones, school equipment, calculators, binders, clothing...stuff the kids need for school," he added.

Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment

Just as disturbing is the fact that the two suspects were seen earlier casing the area on the west side of the school.

"We think they were trying to size it up and figure out what they wanted to do before they actually committed the crime," said Chief Morningstar.

Police estimate the value of the stolen items at $2,000.

A devastating loss for some kids in this small rural community.

"Our kids were pretty impacted by this emotionally. Sometimes, we feel pretty safe and secure out here where we know everybody and then this happens and it makes you question that," said Morton School District Superintendent and Principal John Hannah.

Some of the kids worked all summer to buy their phones and other stolen items.

"For some people, it might be unfortunate. For some of our kids, in our rural community here, it's unforgiving," said Chief Morningstar.

If you can identify either of these men, please contact Lewis County communications at 360-740-1105 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or using the P3 Tips App on your cell phone.

REDMOND, Wash. -- Redmond Police are investigating a series of vehicle fires in the Education Hill and downtown neighborhoods.

According to police, officers have responded to seven separate fires set inside vehicles since Sept. 24. All but one of the fires were minor and had already gone out by the time the arson was discovered.

In the early hours of Sept. 28, fire and police responded to a vehicle engulfed in flames at an apartment complex in the 17200 block of NE 85th Place. The fire had spread to the covered parking structure, but crews were able to extinguish it quickly.

Police found evidence an additional small fire in another vehicle nearby.

’10 years is an awful long time’: Family wants answers a decade after man’s hit-and-run death

TACOMA, Wash. -- There have been a lot of changes along Tacoma’s 72nd street in the decade since 53-year-old Ronald McKellar was hit and killed.

Pewee’s Tavern is now a marijuana shop.  That’s where McKellar and his friend were drinking that rainy, blustery night on October 4, 2008 before a vehicle hit him while he crossing the street to catch the last bus.

The passage of time hasn’t dulled the pain of his loss for Jeff McKellar, Ron’s older brother.

“Ten years is an awful long time. My brother has family. He has kids and lots of people want to know what happened,” said McKellar.

Tacoma Police say Ron’s drinking buddy had crossed the street first but when he looked back, his friend had vanished.

“His back is to Ron and he hears a thud noise. He turns around and he sees a car driving off and Ron's gone,” said Tacoma PD Det. Vicki Chittick, who talked with us about the case in 2015.

Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment

Ron’s friend described the car as a light-colored or tan 1980s Ford Thunderbird.  A short time later, somebody spotted a man lying in the middle of the road 12 blocks away at 64th and C street.

“He was dragged a mile and a quarter down the street,” said McKellar.

Police say there was no video from area businesses or evidence left behind at the scene, but there was a witness who may have seen everything.

“A woman who heard the crash raced across the street to see if everyone was okay. “This person comes out, they live behind Peewee’s Tavern and they saw a grey Jeep Cherokee pull into the Rite Aid lot. Right into this area she contacts the driver who got out and describes him as being an older white male, approximately in his 50s, who’s got gray hair and was wearing a gray jacket and jeans. She asked him if he’s alright or needed help and he said, ‘I’m not part of the accident. A car just hit a pedestrian, but we don’t have a pedestrian here so everybody’s wondering what happened,” said Det. Chittick.

The driver left before police arrived, but they would love to talk to him now. McKellar is pleading with him to come forward.

“Please do something. How could you have this on your mind all these years?” said McKellar.

He doesn’t know if the driver who hit his brother is still alive but won’t give up hope that somebody can provide some answers.

“People talk about closure all the time. Where is it?” asked McKellar.

Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who can help solve this case. You can remain anonymous. Call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or use the P3 Tips App on your phone to submit the information.

EDMONDS, Wash. -- A 50-year-old sex offender from Issaquah was arrested Wednesday afternoon for allegedly sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl at a grocery store in Edmonds more than two weeks ago, police said.

According to a news release from Edmonds PD, tips from the public and work from detectives led to his arrest at his home in North Bend.

Edmonds Police say a mother and two girls were shopping at the Ranch 99 market on 22511 Highway 99 around 4 p.m. September 15, when the suspect followed them around before touching the young girl in her private area.

The suspect is a level one sex offender, according to police, and was booked into jail on one count of child molestation in the first degree.

“This case is not yet over, there is still much left to do. Thank you to all who have helped!” said Stacie Trykar, the lead detective in the case.

Police said video from a business in Lynnwood was used to help identify the suspect. He is also suspected of going to a Lynnwood H-Mart store one hour after the first assault in Edmonds and trying to assault another young girl.

Detectives are still trying to determine whether there are more victims.

Edmonds PD says anyone who may have been victimized by the man should report him to authorities.

SEATTLE -- A man who tried to kidnap a 16-year-old girl between Kent and Federal Way in August has been arrested, according to King County Sgt. Ryan Abbott.

Kevin J. Perkins was arrested in Tukwila Thursday for kidnapping 1.

Earlier this week, the King County Sheriff's Office released a sketch of the suspect who Abbott said grabbed a teen jogger in the area of South 272nd Street and 42nd Avenue South on August 13 and pushed her into a dark colored SUV.

"The suspect grabbed the victim’s throat and was able to push her into the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The suspect got the victim’s pants partially down and tried to keep her in the vehicle," Abbott said.

The 16-year-old girl violently fought back -- kicking the suspect, screaming for help, and honking the SUV's horn. Abbott said at one point she scratched the man's face.

The teen managed to get away and flag down a passing vehicle for help.

"The suspect grabbed the victim and she took off her sweatshirt to get away. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s leg and her shoe came off. Still, the victim was able to run away and flag down a passing vehicle for help," Abbott said.

DNA evidence linked Perkins to the crime, according to Abbott.

Jaszamare Blake: Wanted woman abuser convicted of terrorizing victim while children watched

WANTED BY DOC IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY —
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month — putting a spotlight on the fight against convicted woman abuser’s like Jaszamare Blake — a man convicted of beating his girlfriend while babysitting his sister’s kids.

The violence he made the children witness in a motel room is horrible: Pushing the victim to floor several times, choking her nearly unconscious. When she was able to get away long enough to lock herself in the bathroom, Blake threatened her from the other side of the door while pouring coffee through the door jamb. She came out to call 911 — and the horror happened again — still with the two young children watching it all. The victim escaped into the bathroom again. This time Blake took off with the kids — and the victims ID and credit cards.

He was convicted of assault in 2015 for it and is now breaking probation on it Snohomish County. He’s also wanted in King County for an auto theft charge that’s also a domestic violence crime, since the vehicle belonged to an ex-girlfriend — a perfect example of how Blake’s Department of Corrections Officer says he’s known to ‘date women and take advantage of them.’

His rap sheet shows several assaults, protection order violations, drugs, hit and run, lying to police and possession of a dangerous weapon.

He’s 33 years old, 6’1”, weighs 167 pounds and is known to hangout in the Kent and Auburn areas of King County.

He’s got a ton of tattoos all over his body, including the ones you see below on his neck, chest and behind his ear.

If you know where he’s hiding, use the P3 Tips App on your smart phone or call the hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477). It’s anonymous and you’ll get a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip helps lead to his arrest.

WANTED IN MOUNTLAKE TERRACE —
Hold your purse tight if you see this suspect coming.

He’s accused of violently snatching a woman’s handbag outside the AM/PM mini-mart in Mountlake Terrace. “You’re going to see this black, young male subject with a pretty distinctive shirt entering the store and leaving the store,” said Mountlake Terrace Det. Sgt. Pat Lowe. “This gentleman was kind of lurking around the AM/PM when a female was purchasing gas, walking back to her car with her purse in her hands. This gentleman who we’re looking for saw the opportunity and ran up and grabbed the purse out of the hands of this victim, got into a little bit of a Tug-O-War and then he fled the area.”

Detectives say he got into a white sedan -- possibly a Nissan. Instead of a license plate, detectives say it had a paper car dealer ad that said ‘Prize#1,’ or ‘1Price.’

The suspect’s colorful shirt says ‘Polo’ on the chest and has RLPC67 going down the left sleeve.

If you know his name, use the P3 Tips App to submit the information through your phone, or call the hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). It's always anonymous and you’ll get a cash reward up to $1,000 if your tip helps lead to his arrest.

Help ID ‘smash and grab’ booze bandit seen busting store’s windows with bags of rocks

$

WANTED IN KING COUNTY —
A ‘smash and grab’ burglar busts into a Bartell’s in Burien with a bag of rocks. He boosted dozens of bottles of booze: Mostly Hennessey, but some Crown Royal as well.

King County Sheriff’s detectives need to know his name.

They say all in all, he’s stolen more than $2,000 of liquor — hitting the same store twice — 10 days apart, while it’s closed and no one’s around.

His first burglary on September 20th didn’t start off like he planned. “It appears he left his bag of tricks, his hard objects at the front, so he ran to the back and realized he had to break into the second display case and he didn’t have his rocks, so he had to run all the way back to the front of the store again, all the way to the back of the store a second time, this time he had his bag of rocks and he was able to break open the cabinet where the hard alcohol was kept and then you can see him loading all the liquor bottles into his backpack,” described King County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ryan Abbott. “The second incident happened 10 days later on the 30th of September. Same thing. This time he had a red bag, or a red shirt. Looks like he brought more rocks with him this time. The first time he really struggled to break that front window and this time he didn’t. He smashed the window and it broke completely this time on the first hit. He hit it a second time just to kind of help and then he went right in, again, ran to the back of the store, knew exactly what he was looking for, loaded up all the hard alcohol items and he was in and out within just over a minute this time. We want this guy. We want to get him off the street and he’s already hit the same store twice, so if he’s hitting Bartell’s and he’s hitting the same store twice, there’s a good possibility he’s going to hit other stores in the downtown Burien area that he’s already figured out what he’s after and he’s going to move to the next store, next week and work on doing the same thing.”

If you recognize anything about this destructive booze bandit, or maybe heard someone bragging about busting into a Bartell's in Burien and now had a bunch of bottles of Hennessey and Crown Royal, use the P3 Tips App to submit the information to Crime Stoppers, or call the hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).

Camron Gaunt and Monique Koenig: Wanted couple accused of robbing barista at gunpoint

WANTED IN MOUNTLAKE TERRACE —
An unusual robbery in Mountlake Terrace: Detectives say 10-time convicted felon, Camron Gaunt, is accused of robbing a barista at gunpoint. It’s not unusual to see a guy robbing a coffee stand, but they usually do it alone. This time, police say, Gaunt had an accomplice — his girlfriend — Monique Koenig.

Detectives are hoping you can help find this criminal couple who are both wanted in Mountlake Terrace.

“In our area we don’t get a lot of armed robberies with handguns, especially at the coffee stands,” said Mountlake Terrace Police Det. Carl Cronk. “On September 13th, about 7am, our suspect, Camron Gaunt pulled up to the Roosters Espresso stand at 70th and 220th and pointed a handgun at our victim, who’s the barista and demanded cash. After receiving the cash from the barista he fled the scene in a car. In the car, with him, was a female, who we believe is his girlfriend, Monique. The barista, the victim, she was alert enough to grab the license plate of the vehicle as it drove away and our investigation led us to find the vehicle and get an identification on Camron through that. It’s important to get Camron in custody. He’s pointing guns at innocent victims. It’s startling to the victims. My fear is that if he isn’t apprehended and placed into custody that he’ll continue to escalate and someone will eventually get hurt.”

Gaunt has more than 10 felony convictions -- including Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and three bank robberies he just got out of prison for.

He's got multiple warrants for his arrest.

He's 35 years old. Monique Koenig is 36.

Detectives think they could be driving a black 2016 Chevy Silverado with Washington state license plates C09087M.

Detectives think they could be hiding in the North Bend or Chelan area.

If you know where to find them, use the P3 Tips App on your phone, or call the Crime Stoppers hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Ricky Jackson: ‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect one of Western District of Washington Fugitive Task Force top ten most wanted

WANTED IN SEATTLE —
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month — putting a spotlight on the fight against suspects like Ricky Jackson — accused of threatening to shoot his girlfriend in the face.

He’s considered ‘armed and dangerous’ and  one of the U.S. Marshals-led Western District of Washington Fugitive Task Force top ten most wanted.

Seattle Police say the victim called 911 on August 5th after Jackson approached her on the street at a hot dog stand in Capitol Hill, lifted his shirt and showed her a gun before threatening to knock her down and shoot her in the face.

He took off and jumped in his car when he realized officers were on the way.

"The suspect in this case, after the harassment and showing the gun and everything, takes off in his own vehicle. He eventually crashes the Dodge Charger down near the Federal courthouse. You'll see shots of him running down the sidewalk and as he's getting closer to the courthouse, security cameras pick him up walking up the stairs,” said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “This is where he dumps one of the guns. Police come in and you will actually see the arrest of the suspect."

Officers recovered two handguns near the scene including an AK-style pistol, as well as a .40 caliber handgun.

But then, the unthinkable happened – he was released from jail pending trial and wouldn't you know it -- he's disappeared.

"If you look at his arrest record, a number of his felony convictions show guns,” said Carner. “When the guns were recovered, were they empty? No. They were loaded, so when those threats took place, he was using a real loaded gun. This is a dangerous felon. Eleven convictions. Are you kidding me? And this guy's still out on the street."

Ricky Jackson is charged with:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Felony Harassment-Domestic Violence
  • Attempting to Elude Police

He has a $250,000 warrant for his arrest.

Seattle Police say Jackson claims to be a Tacoma gang member.

He's 35 years old, 5'10" and weighs 175 pounds. He was last known to be living in Woodinville.

If you know where he’s hiding, use the P3 Tips App on your smart phone to submit the information to Crime Stoppers, or call the hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477). It’s anonymous and you’ll get a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip helps lead to his arrest.

Takeover armed robbery at Duvall pharmacy among hundreds of cases on CanYouID.me

DUVALL, Wash. -- It was near closing time at Duvall Family Drugs on September 6, 2018 when three men in hoodies ran into the store with guns and ordered everyone to the ground.

"One of them held one of my customers at gun point on the floor right at the register," said owner Cari Vanderhouwen. The customer was hit by one of the gunmen but didn't suffer any major injuries. The crooks demanded Oxycodone pills.

It was a terrifying and unusual robbery in this community of just 8000 people. "For a small town, we don’t usually get stuff like this, so I mean, it is pretty disturbing but in general if there is a firearm implied, a robbery and people are forced to go to the ground it’s a big concern for us," said Duvall PD Officer Brandon Rhodes.

The three suspects escaped in a dark-colored sedan. The pharmacy wasn't able to get the suspects on security camera but police did create a sketch of one of them. They posted it on CanYouID.me, a website detectives all around the state are using to help identify suspects and persons of interest.

“We have over 250 photos of subjects we’re trying to identify right now," said Det. Tony Matthews with Lake Forest Park Police .

He co-founded the CanYouID.me in 2010 with five other detectives. Since then, he says 398 people have been identified.  More than 300 investigators from 96 different police agencies now submit photos to ask for the public's help.

In August, they unveiled a new, user-friendly, updated website that allows the public to anonymously submit names and information about the people in the photographs directly to the investigating detective. "We have photos that are new that are posted every day," said Det. Matthews who says you can also search the site by city.

The victims in Duvall would be grateful to know that the suspects who robbed them have been identified and caught.

Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 if you can help Duvall Police identify the suspect in the sketch or any of the armed robbers involved.  Even if you submit the tip through CanYouID.me, you must also submit a tip to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound by using the P3 Tips App on your phone or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). SEATTLE -- Police are asking for the public’s help to find a woman accused of robbing the mother of a sick child outside Seattle Children's Hospital.

Detectives say on September 12th, Paige Nicholls smashed out the right rear wing passenger side window of the victim’s car. When the victim came to get something for her 11-year-old son being treated for a brain disease, detectives say she found Nicholls sitting in the backseat.

“The female notices the victim gets out and immediately takes a swing at her and hits her in the face. Then, the suspect pulls out a knife, puts it towards the victim's neck and says some curse words at her and then the victim starts screaming. A witness comes up and notices the suspect. Suspect looks at the witness and takes a $20 bill, throws it at the victim, says 'Hey, I'm sorry and she takes off running," detectives said.

Nicholls already has an arrest warrant in Marysville for car prowling and now King County prosecutors are filing charges for robbery.

Washington's Most Wanted host David Rose said he gave Nicholls several chances to do the right thing, but she has not turned herself in.

Rose said he spoke with Nicholls last Thursday.

"The first time I called, she hung up on me. When I called back, she said it was a bad reception. I encouraged her to surrender. She wanted to know how much her bail was going to be. I didn’t have an answer for her. She later texted me and asked what she needed to do," Rose said.

Nicholls had until Monday at 10 a.m. to turn herself in. She didn’t show up and has not responded to calls or texts from detectives.

Paige Nicholls is 5’05” 130 pounds with blonde hazel and hazel eyes. She is a 3-time convicted felon for residential burglary and possession of controlled substances with no prescription. She has two gross misdemeanor convictions for vehicle prowling-2nd degree and theft 3rd degree.

She was last known to be staying somewhere in the Arlington or Marysville area.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information on her whereabouts. If you can tell officers where to find her, you will remain anonymous. Submit the information by using the P3 Tips App on your cell phone or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also go to www.P3Tips.com.

SEATAC, Wash. -- Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man accused of breaking into a woman’s car in SeaTac on Tuesday 9/25/18. The same suspect is also accused of stealing luggage at Sea-Tac airport.

Officers say the victim went to Safeway at 4011 S 164th Street in SeaTac around 6 p.m.

She parked her vehicle on the northwest corner of the building in the first parking spot next to the shopping cart return. She was in the store for about 20 minutes. When she came out, she saw a white man sitting inside her vehicle.

The victim described the man as having brown shaggy hair and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and carrying a roller suitcase.

Deputies say the suspect was in the driver’s seat fiddling around with the steering column.

The victim noticed the suspect had a large number of keys in his hand when he was inside her car.

Deputies say she yelled, “Hey, that’s my car” and he responded “I have the keys. It’s my car.”

She told him “No, it’s my car” and the male responded with “Oh, you left your car open.”

The victim responded by telling him, “No, I did not leave my car open.”

At that point, the guy got out of the vehicle and took his suitcase out of the back seat. He walked off toward the front of the store.

She got in her vehicle and took a photo of him sitting in front of the Safeway.

Police say the victim's steering column was broken and she had damage to her door lock. She is now unable to use her car key to unlock her car on the driver’s side.

Detectives say the man is the same man that Port of Seattle PD has been trying to identify for stealing luggage at the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport.
