AUBURN, Wash. — King County Sheriff’s Detectives in the fugitive unit and Auburn Police are asking for the public’s help to find Oleg Lakotiy who is wanted for Domestic Violence Felony Violation of a No Contact Order. He has failed to show up to court so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

“He has two prior convictions for a similar violation. The order is against him. He’s not supposed to be anywhere near his mother, because of prior domestic violence history. On this day he violated it, police found him hiding in his mom’s playhouse in the backyard. He came out voluntarily. Police arrested him and noted that he appeared to be under the influence at the time. We know that Lakotiy hangs out in the Auburn area and has a reputation for selling drugs near a skate park on Lea Hill,” said Sgt. Cindi West.

Officers have impounded his white Mercedes so it is not known how he is getting around.

Portland Police arrested him in 2013 after he was naked, high on meth and running into traffic. KPTV reports that he jumped 15 feet down an embankment and landed on his back on the freeway before getting up and running into oncoming freeway traffic. Several drivers swerved to avoid hitting the man, but police were eventually able to catch up to him and deploy a stun gun to take him into custody. He was taken to a Portland hospital to be treated for a drug overdose of methamphetamine.

Lakotiy is white, 6’01”, 180 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. If you can tell deputies where to find him, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or use the P3 Tips App on your phone or submit the information via www.p3tips.com.

There is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to his arrest.

A grinch steals a truck full of “Laser X” toys from distribution center in Fife

FIFE, Wash. — A real-life Grinch is still on the loose after stealing a full truckload of one of the season’s most popular toys from a South Sound distribution center.

“They had a trailer that was loaded with fully of toys and ready to be distributed,” said Fife Police Sgt. Tom Thompson.

The stolen “Rock Tumblers” and “Laser X” laser tag systems disappeared a week ago.  The manufacturer said about 6,000 of the Laser-X toys were in the trailer — headed all over the western U.S.

"We believe the person that stole that tractor hooked up to the trailer full of toys and just drove away with it," Thompson said.

What's odd about the heist is that it happened on a Wednesday in broad daylight, and that the tractor and trailer were stolen at the same time -- and that it just happened to be full of one of the most popular toys of the season.

"It's probably more than a crime of opportunity, usually semi-tractors are not something that's usually targeted to be stolen," Thompson said. "It seems to be like somebody knew that was in that trailer."

The tractor is a white Freightliner with Washington plates. The trailer is labeled "Triton" and is reddish-brown in color with Tennessee plates. As for the toys, they will probably ended up on Craigslist or OfferUp.

"Our guess is they're probably going to be quite a substantial discount 15 and so we're hoping that folks can, if they see that or happen to notice these things on sale, that they'd be willing to give us a call," Thompson said.

If you're shooting for getting the Laser-X gun under the tree, nearby toy stoles seem to be well-stocked with them.

The case is currently being investigated by Fife Police  with the assistance of the Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force.  Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for any tip that leads to an arrest and charges in the case.  Call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit the information at http://www.tpcrimestoppers.com.

Horrific hit-and-run of 61-year-old bicyclist caught on video; police ask for help finding killer

SEATTLE -- Amid the hustle and bustle of a Sodo warehouse, a small memorial honors the life of a man named Celso Diaz, known as "Pete" around iClick Inc.

“Since he left, there’s a broom and a mop here that hasn’t been touched,” says Edward Cozarg, Pete’s friend and co-worker at the company.

Seattle police say that on November 21, someone driving a light-colored Toyota Prius hit and killed the 61-year-old as he rode his bicycle to work, at the corner of 1st Avenue South and South Andover Street. And the driver just continued on, as if he or she hadn't slammed into Pete so hard that he was sent flying up in the air.

Friend and co-worker Min Seo passed by the scene just moments later.

“I didn’t know it was Pete, but I saw a bike and I thought oh my gosh, this is going to be somebody -- one of our warehouse guys,” Seo said.

Surveillance cameras from an area business captured the hit-and-run. You can see Pete, in the bright yellow jacket, entering the unmarked crosswalk, attempting to ride his bike across 1st Avenue South. Q13 News is not showing the moment of impact.

Detectives believe the driver was speeding, going at least 60 mph in a zone designated as 35 mph.

Never once did the car stop.

Investigators believe the damage to the car may be the clues necessary to identify this driver, including damage to the fog lights, the front hood near the headlights and the windshield by the rear-view mirror.

Pete’s friends and co-workers plan to turn the break room at the iClick warehouse into a permanent memorial.

“Hopefully we can do something with that broom and mop out there; put it on the wall and bronze it or something,” says Cozarg.

“This is a human being. I hope they catch him, that’s all. He really was a gentle man,” says Seo.

Cozarg said just five years ago Pete was homeless and living in 'The Jungle' encampment.  Cozarg took him into his home and said Pete really turned his life around; he even got a place of his own. He says he was a true friend. And that is why it’s so important for them to get Pete the justice he deserves.

If you notice a 2010-2015 model light-colored Prius with suspicious damage, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-tips. You can remain anonymous and if your tip leads to an arrest you could receive up to a $1,000 reward.

GRAHAM, Wash. -- Sheriff's deputies are now looking for a fourth suspect in the shooting of two students outside a local high school.

Two 17-year-old boys were shot just outside of Graham-Kapowsin High School after class on Tuesday. One of the students was found in a parking lot near the football field. The other student was found inside a locker room. Those victims are still recovering.

Within 24 hours of the shooting, detectives were able to track down two suspects in the case and arrest them. Pierce County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Ed Troyer said a getaway car had also been located.

But detectives still have not found this third suspect. They believe he is the one who fired the shots.

Deputies say he may still have that gun and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Now, investigators say there is a fourth suspect in the case. They are working to identify this suspect.

Troyer said the shooting happened Tuesday outside the school at the scene of a prearranged fight. But before the fight started, someone in the getaway car fired multiple rounds, hitting the two students.

Troyer said one of the two victims appeared to be a bystander who had no knowledge of the fight.

The Pierce County prosecutor will decide if the two kids being held in juvenile detention could be charged as adults.

If you know can help police find either suspect, use the P3 Tips App on your smartphone to submit the information to Crime Stoppers, or call the hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

CAPTURED: Tacoma Police arrest dangerous car theft suspect Dominique Reyes

CAPTURED — Dec. 8, 2017

Tacoma Police say Dominique Reyes was a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop on Dec. 5th at 11th  and Court A.  She refused to give her name but officers pulled up a recent photo of her and she was arrested on her outstanding warrants in King County.  Reyes is charged with Possession of a Firearm and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.  She is being held in the Regional Justice Center in Kent where he bail is set at $160,000.

WANTED IN KING COUNTY —
Detectives say Dominique Reyes is accused of a crime spree that started in February with a homeowner waking up to her stealing his car from his driveway with a shaved key. “Our victim actually heard his car being stolen,” said King County Sgt. Cindi West. “He jumped into a vehicle with a friend and they followed her and her accomplice, until police got there. When police got there, they attempted to stop her and she took off on a high-speed pursuit. She eventually crashed the car and then she tried to run into a creek to elude capture. Unfortunately for her, but fortunately for the police, the creek swept her downstream and she had to be rescued by the officers that were chasing her.”

She was arrested and bailed out of jail, but detectives say Dominique wasn’t done committing crimes — getting busted with a gun and a bunch of meth in July after Kent Police answered a call about threats being made at a mobile home park. “She was in possession of a firearm and because she’s a convicted felon she’s not allowed to possess a firearm. She has a warrant out for that case too and we want to get her off the street before she continues to commit crimes, whether it’s possession of a weapon, or theft of vehicle,” said Sgt. West.

She never showed up for court and is now wanted on a $100,000 warrant in King County.

That tattoo on her face should really make her stand out on the street. “The significant thing about Reyes is she has a tattoo on her left eye,” said Sgt. West. “She may attempt to conceal it, or hide it with something else, but regardless of what she does, it’s going to be a sore thumb sticking out. If she puts a Band-Aid on it, it’s going to be noticeable. If she tries to cover it up with makeup it’s still going to be noticeable, so you know, if you spot this gal, give Crime Stoppers a call, so we can get her off the street.”

Dominique Reyes is 22 years old, 5’5” and weighs 140 pounds.

She has convictions for prior car thefts and attempting to elude police.

If you know where she’s hiding — or spot her on the street — call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS), or use the P3 Tips App to submit your information.

Federal Way community raising funds to help police motorcycle officer ‘Frank Martin Throttle Cancer’

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — The community of Federal Way is rallying around a police motorcycle officer as they try to help ‘Frank Martin Throttle Cancer’.

Martin, who is in his early 40s, was injured during an advanced training exercise in July but then never got better. Last month, doctors discovered he had Stage 4 colon cancer that had spread into his right hip.

“He’s gotten pretty sick and as of today, he is in a local hospital trying to control his pain and also put in some measures surgically to get him some relief so that we can just get to the cancer treatment plan,” said Cathy Schrock with the Federal Way Police Department.

He’s about to start immediate radiation treatments in hopes of being transferred to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

Martin grew up in Sunnyside and graduated from Central Washington University where he went on to become a corrections officer at the King County Jail. He has two young kids. His wife is a student in a nursing program and they are a single-income family.

Now, his colleague have organized a fundraiser to help them handle their growing expenses. They’ve set up a donation page if you would like to contribute to his medical expenses: https://www.gofundme.com/help-officer-frank-martin-throttle?ssid=1153588294&pos=3

"There’s a lot of out-of-pocket cost regardless of how good our insurance is.  When you are faced with this kind of diagnosis, that’s the last thing you think about. All you want to do is get to the best health care you can. We just want to take care of the family and make sure medical costs are covered,” said Schrock.

It’s the first time in 21 years the department has had an officer with this kind of serious cancer diagnosis.

“We’re a family so what would we do if this was our family so we are all coming together. Just last week, the department organized a meal train to make sure the family was taken care of at home,” said Schrock.

Martin is doing everything he can to fight and beat his cancer. His family means everything to him.

“If you can’t contribute financially, just say a prayer for him and his family,” said Schrock.

EVERETT, Wash. -- Detectives arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a double shooting near Everett, but they are still looking for three persons of interest.

Authorities say a woman died and a teenage boy was wounded in a shooting during a burglary at a residence near Everett.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton says calls to 911 reporting a burglary and shots fired were made around 4:45 a.m. Thursday at a mobile home park south of the city.

Ireton says when deputies arrived they found two people with gunshot wounds.

She says a 54-year-old woman died at the scene and a 17-year-old boy was taken to a hospital. Ireton says the boy's injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Alichia Young told Q13 News her mother and little brother were victims in the shooting.

“Why is my mom gone? Why? There’s no answer,” she said. “And there never will be, and I will suffer for it for the rest of my life.”

“The next thing I knew she passed away,” said Young. “She didn’t even make it to the hospital.”

On Friday, investigators said they believe these three people, two males and one female, may have information related to the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office Anonymous Tip Line at 425-388-3845 or submit a tip online.

Young says Knechtel worked at a nearby Fred Meyer and was beloved by her customers and neighbors. She believes her mom died trying to protect her other kids.

“If she didn’t love us as much as I’m saying she did, she wouldn’t have taken that bullet for my brother,” she said.

Help ID armed robbery suspect who hit hotel, nearby store back-to-back

WANTED IN SEATTLE —
Seattle Police say the man you see above asked a downtown hotel desk clerk if she’d ever seen ‘America’s Most Wanted?’ When she said no, detectives say he took off after taking some complimentary cookies – but returned to rob her after he went to a nearby convenience store where he was caught on camera in a second robbery.

You’re going to see in the video where the suspect enters the store. You’re going to get a real good look at his face, his clothing,” said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “He walks over to a wine rack and grabs one bottle of wine, he then walks over to where the clerk on duty is and says, ‘I want your money, I have a knife,’ and actually shows a knife. The clerk on duty somewhat panics and just takes off running. Suspect reaches over and tries to open the till, he’s not successful, so he just grabs the wine bottle and leaves. It’s still an armed robbery. He goes back to the hotel, where he was earlier, walks in, approaches the same clerk on duty, walks up and says, ‘I want your money!’ The clerk’s standing pretty close and hears a ‘thump’ underneath the counter. She assumes that he has a gun, so she opens the till, gives him the money, he takes the money and just walks out very casually. It tells me that this guy may be a homeless guy he may be a guy that lives in the area.  He seems to be familiar. Both of the robberies, the mini mart and the hotel are fairly close and so somebody down there probably saw this guy. You look at him, you go, ‘Oh, that’s such and such, that’s the information we need.”

This happened on November 26th at the Homewood Suites on the corner of 2nd and Western in downtown Seattle. Stella Deli and Market is just a block north on 2nd and Thomas.

Detectives think the suspect is black or Hispanic, in his 20's, around 5’9”, with a medium build and thin mustache.

If you know who he is, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or use the P3 Tips App to submit your information and get the cash reward if your tip leads to his arrest.

WANTED IN LEWIS COUNTY —
The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an accused child molester.

Jimmy Mathus — a.k.a. ‘King Jimmy’ — is wanted on a first-degree child molestation warrant.

He’s from Chehalis.

Lewis County Sheriff Rob Snaza says they learned of the horrific details when deputies responded to a disturbance call. “They had talked to a male individual who was in a verbal confrontation with Mr. Mathus. During that confrontation it was disclosed that Mr. Mathus was possibly involved in sexual abuse and during that investigation we developed probable cause of Mr. Mathus’ arrest for child molestation in the first and rape of a child in the first degree. Since that time we’ve had numerous reports that Mr. Mathus is either here in the surrounding Lewis County area, or may have left to the North Dakota area, but our information is leading us that he’s still here in the area and we’re asking Washington’s Most Wanted for all the help and support that we can find this individual and bring him to justice.”

Mathus is 61 years old and has a long criminal history in Lewis County that includes drugs and weapons. “I, myself, have had the pleasure of taking him into custody on numerous occasions and this is one time I’d take most great pleasure in bringing him in,” said Sheriff Snaza. “The biggest concern we have right now is that there are individuals that Mr. Mathus has associates with that may be hiding him, that may be harboring him and we want to send a message: If you are harboring Mr. Mathus, you will be held accountable, you will be arrested and you will be charged.”

If you know where Mathus is hiding, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), or use the P3 Tips App to submit your information.

WANTED IN FIFE —
Fife Police are asking for your help to find Karl Brownell, who everybody knows as ‘Wesley,’ after detectives say he stabbed a man — almost killing him.

The victim, Richard Pederson, was just trying to be a Good Samaritan, but it shows how dangerous doing the right thing can sometimes be.

Pederson has been working towards opening his own tattoo shop. Those plans are on hold now and his mom, Peggielee, is worried after her son was stabbed on November 29th at the Emerald Queen Casino while trying to take up for a woman in the wheelchair. Fife Police say she asked Brownell, who she knew, for help to get money out of an ATM. “She provided him with her bank card and her pin,” said Fife Police Chief Pete Fisher. “He retrieved money from the machine. Gave her back her card and then left the casino with the cash he had taken out on her behalf.”

Detectives say Richard heard what happened and went outside to confront Brownell to get the money back. “They got into an argument which turned physical and at some point during that scuffle, our victim was stabbed at least once and had multiple injuries as a result of that altercation,” said Chief Fisher.

Richard spent a week in the hospital. His mom says he almost died for being a hero to that disabled woman. “Why stab him anyway? You did wrong! Admit you did wrong,” said Peggielee.

Fife Police say Brownell is known to frequent casinos in Fife and the Tacoma area and should be considered ‘armed and dangerous.’ "Obviously, his behavior is unpredictable and very violent so we'd like to get him into custody as quickly as possible,” said Chief Fisher.

Brownell is 27 years old, 6'5" and weighs 240 pounds. Detectives say he may have a large bandage on his right hand.

Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist has charged him with Assault in the 2nd degree and Theft in the 3rd degree.

He's been arrested six times and convicted most recently of domestic violence assault, but has also been busted for car prowling in King County.

Detectives think he could be in Federal Way, Tacoma and surrounding areas and is could be living transient.

If you know where he is, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. There is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to his arrest.

GRAHAM, Wash. — A 16-year-old boy who police believe fired the shots that wounded two students at Graham-Kapowsin High School last week surrendered to authorities Monday afternoon.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said the suspect turned himself in late Monday afternoon at Remann Hall in Tacoma and will be booked on charges of first-degree assault and drive-by shooting.

Earlier, two other suspects in the incident were being released without charges. Investigators say those suspects were with another person who fired the shots that wounded two students outside Graham-Kapowsin High School on Tuesday.

Deputies say a fourth suspect, pictured below, remains at large.

Authorities say the shooting happened at the site of a prearranged fight between one of the suspects and another Graham-Kapowsin student. The two wounded students are recovering.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says dash camera video shows the getaway car, with the four suspects inside, leaving the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Man accused of groping, attempting to lure children at Renton Walmart

$

RENTON, Wash. — ‘Tis the season for holiday distractions. The shopping. The people. The kids running around looking for toys.

“It’s been my experience that sexual predators look for the very best opportunity that they can find in order to encounter children and this time of year—in stores just like Walmart–where families are shopping for the holidays–it’s a great opportunity for people with that mindset,” said Commander David  Leibman with the Renton Police Department.

Sunday afternoon was the perfect opportunity for this man.

Police are calling this black male, likely in his 30s, a suspect — after allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

"She said that a man had followed her up and down a couple of aisles before eventually she and her other 10-year-old cousin were in the aisle all by themselves," said Leibman. "The man came up, groped her, made some comments about paying or buying her a board game so that they could play and then eventually went away."

That incident was not caught on camera. But the concern is very real for Renton police who say the suspect could strike again.

"I have no doubt that this person right now is out there doing something very similar to what we saw happen yesterday," said Leibman. "How far he takes these encounters--we don’t know, but we just don’t want to find out the hard way."

When police reviewed the Walmart surveillance video they noticed the same suspect also following other children up and down aisles.

In another incident, he appears to wait for a little girl, approximately the same age, looking for toys by herself. In the video--the suspect continues to look around--appearing to wait to approach until she was alone.

"At this point, not only do we want to identify the suspect, we want to know what happened with this female, too, because in the video it looks like he's following her away."

An alarming find. Then came a third report--all from inside this Rainier Avenue Walmart.

This time the suspect left and came back – parents telling Walmart security that around 9 o'clock Sunday, a man with the same description, followed their 4-year-old, offering her candy to come with him.

Disgusting allegations that have plenty Renton shoppers on high alert.

"I think it's scary and it's sad. They're shopping, they're looking at toys, they're not thinking that someone's there to harm them," said mom Andrina Hill. "I think they’ve very sick and very calculating to do something like that."

Mom of two Jessica Valdez agreed--walking into the same Walmart-- a day later.

"It's sick. It makes me even more cautious of where my kids are at and how close they are to me," Valdez said. "There's no way that I'm going to take my eyes off my kids."

It's a good reminder – that sometimes turning your back or just rounding an aisle – is all the time it takes.

One of the biggest concerns for police is that sexual predators like this are likely to strike again.

"It's my experience that people that do things like what we've seen in the video and what we've heard in the allegations--this is their lifestyle. This is the kind of behavior that they display day after day," said Leibman.

Police are looking for the little girl wearing (the teal sweatshirt) who the suspect made contact with or anyone else who might have interacted with him at the Walmart in Renton Sunday afternoon or evening.

The suspect is a black man in his 30s, about 5'8 to 6'0. He was wearing a maroon colored hat, a black leather jacket and skinny jeans with holes.

If you know his name or whereabouts, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and if your tip leads to an arrest you could receive up to a $1,000 reward.

GIG HARBOR, Wash. — You work hard to get your house looking sharp and ready to sell. Then, you list it with a real estate agent trusting your house will be safe while it is shown. That’s what more than a dozen homeowners from Pierce to King County thought, including a Gig Harbor mom. All were victims of so-called ‘For Sale Burglaries’.

The crooks found Laura Brooks and her family were on vacation, because the real estate agent had posted the information on the Multiple Listing Service, which is supposed to be secure and private.

“It was horrible, horrible experience. We were very frightened,” said Brooks.

For four days, the thieves made themselves right at home, eating their food and sleeping in their beds.

“It was just a pure painful invasion,” said Brooks.

Painful because among all the jewelry, documents and valuables stolen, the thieves took an heirloom Rolex Submariner watch that was handed down to her son Brandon on his graduation day. He died in a motorcycle accident when he was 19. Brooks was planning to give the watch to his younger brother, Antonio, when he graduated.

“We got home after it happened and she ran upstairs and went into her closet and she was like, it’s gone and started freaking out about it,” said Antonio.

He didn’t even know the watch existed. He was 6 years old when his brother was killed.

"I had it engraved. It said Antonio, In memory of Brandon A. Brooks and 6/16/06, the day of his death,” said Brooks.

She’s praying someone finds it or the many other pieces of family jewelry that were stolen.

There is hope. Police say they identified the thieves as Paul Kalchik and Pavlo Kurylas after they used the family’s stolen credit card in Fife. Both are in the Pierce County Jail after detectives say they burglarized numerous homes.

“Pierce County to King County, from Gig Harbor all the way up to Woodinville,” said Commander Eric Drever who leads the Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force.

Since January, 13 detectives and two sergeants have focused on stopping vehicle theft and vehicle theft rings.

“Car theft itself is prolific because it is a catalyst to all other crimes,” said Drever.

In fact, he says, Kalchik and Kurylas were using stolen vehicles to commit their burglaries.

Detectives say Kalchik used his father’s password to access the real estate listings.

“In this particular instance, he would query for info that would indicate that a homeowner was no longer home, that the house is vacant or were on vacation,” said Drever.

That’s how detectives say the duo knew the Brooks family would be gone for a week.

Real estate agents say crimes like this don’t happen often.

Northwest Multiple Listing Service routinely issues safety and crime prevention alerts for its members.  The scenario Q13 is covering is a rare incident. However, whenever a criminal act involving a member’s listing occurs, Northwest MLS fully cooperates with appropriate authorities,” said Cheri Brennan with Alliance Communications.

The task force is meeting later this week with all of the victims to return their stolen items.

“We've got tens of thousands of dollars in property that's been stolen. Multiple vehicles -- and we are still in the process of identifying everything to give back to the owners,” said Drever.

Everything except the stolen Rolex and Brandon’s motorcycle jacket, which was also taken.

"The things that she held dear were the things that affected us the most,” said Antonio.

Still, despite the shock of being burglarized and the fear it created, Brooks forgives the thieves and hopes they will start to do the right thing.

“I just pray that now that they are sober and are clean, that the realize the pain they’ve caused other people,” said Brooks.

If you think you’ve been a victim of a similar crime, the task force would like you to contact your local law enforcement agency to report it.

Brooks is hoping somebody recognizes her stolen jewelry. We’ve posted a photo gallery of each piece above.

SEATTLE -- Two thieves used a stolen box truck and a stolen forklift to steal a full-sized ATM from the Chase Bank in West Seattle, police said.

Police said the theft took place on Oct. 10, but they're hoping the public will be able to help identify the suspects.

Police said that the thieves made off with the ATM and they trucked it over to an abandoned garage, where they managed to breach the ATM and steal the cash inside.

However, the suspects left behind a cup from a Burger King -- and police were able to find surveillance video at a nearby Burger King that showed two men wearing the same clothes as the suspects in the ATM theft.

Police are hoping the public may be able to identify them. If you know who they are, you are urged to call the Seattle Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
