WANTED IN LEWIS COUNTY —
The Western District of Washington Fugitive Task Force and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office are searching for an accused child molester.

Jimmy Mathus — a.k.a. ‘King Jimmy’ — is wanted on a first-degree child molestation warrant.

He’s from Chehalis.

Lewis County Sheriff Rob Snaza says they learned of the horrific details when deputies responded to a disturbance call. “They had talked to a male individual who was in a verbal confrontation with Mr. Mathus. During that confrontation it was disclosed that Mr. Mathus was possibly involved in sexual abuse and during that investigation we developed probable cause of Mr. Mathus’ arrest for child molestation in the first and rape of a child in the first degree. Since that time we’ve had numerous reports that Mr. Mathus is either here in the surrounding Lewis County area, or may have left to the North Dakota area, but our information is leading us that he’s still here in the area and we’re asking Washington’s Most Wanted for all the help and support that we can find this individual and bring him to justice.”

Mathus is 61 years old and has a long criminal history in Lewis County that includes drugs and weapons. “I, myself, have had the pleasure of taking him into custody on numerous occasions and this is one time I’d take most great pleasure in bringing him in,” said Sheriff Snaza. “The biggest concern we have right now is that there are individuals that Mr. Mathus has associates with that may be hiding him, that may be harboring him and we want to send a message: If you are harboring Mr. Mathus, you will be held accountable, you will be arrested and you will be charged.”

If you know where Mathus is hiding, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), or use the P3 Tips App to submit your information.

It’s anonymous and you’ll get up to a $1,000 cash reward if your tip leads to his arrest.

Daniel White: Wanted for robbery, assault, kidnapping in Pierce County

WANTED IN PIERCE COUNTY —
Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives need your help hunting down ‘armed and dangerous’ carjacking suspect, Daniel ‘Danny’ White.

A felony warrant has been issued for White’s arrest for:

  • Robbery in the 1st degree
  • Assault in the 2nd degree
  • Kidnapping in the 1st degree

On the morning of Tuesday, February 27th, deputies responded to a 911 call from a man saying he’d been carjacked at gunpoint by two men — and his girlfriend was still inside the stolen vehicle.

Detectives say the victim waved down the arriving deputies in the 26300 block of 86th Ave. E. in the Graham area. He was breathing heavily and appeared to be very frightened. Deputies say the victim told them he’d been hanging out in his green Honda Accord, with his girlfriend and two men who he knew. He said he was driving northbound on 86th Ave. when one of the men told him to turn down a dirt road at 262nd St. E. and then to stop the car. The victim said when he stopped the car, the two males exited the vehicle, then both of the men displayed handguns and pointed them at him. The victim said one of the suspects ordered him out of the car and said, ‘If you call the cops, we’re gonna kill your whole family’.  The victim said as he exited the vehicle, one of the men pointed a gun at his head. The victim said during the incident his girlfriend was still in the vehicle and was also threatened at gunpoint. He said the suspects re-entered his car and drove away with his crying girlfriend still in the backseat. He was able to provide the deputies with physical descriptions of the two suspects, saying he knew one of them only as ‘Danny’ — later identified as wanted suspect, Daniel White.

The victim told deputies his vehicle had tracking software that allowed his mom to access his car’s location. His mom activated the software and provided updates to South Sound 911 dispatchers, who were then able to direct deputies to the approximate location of the vehicle.

At 6:23am, deputies located the stolen green Honda Accord in the parking lot of the Walgreens store located in the 17600 block of Meridian Ave. E. in South Hill. The vehicle was unoccupied. A deputy drove behind the Walgreens and spotted a man and woman matching the description of one of the suspects and the kidnapping victim. Detectives say the suspect was then taken into custody at gunpoint.

Deputies say the suspect told them he’d been in the Honda and provided varied and vague answers as to what happened. He said after they fled in the stolen car, they saw the police activity and ditched the car in front of the Walgreens.  He said ‘Danny’ fled the parking lot in a truck.

Detectives say the suspect was found in possession of a key to the Honda Accord as well as a backpack which contained:

  • .38 caliber bullets
  • A box full of .45 caliber bullets
  • An unloaded gun magazine
  • A ballistic vest

Then, deputies say in exchange for a cigarette, the suspect showed them were he dumped a fully-loaded snub-nosed revolver in the bushes next to the Walgreens store.

Detectives say the female victim told deputies the suspects had pointed guns at her boyfriend. She tried to jump out of the vehicle, but one of the suspects slammed the door on her and pointed a gun at her, then the suspect named ‘Danny’ drove off with her in the backseat.

Daniel ‘Danny’ White is 23 years old, 6’2″ and weighs 230 pounds. At the time of the carjacking, deputies say he had a thin mustache like the one in his mugshot above.

If you know where he’s hiding, use the P3 Tips App to submit your information to Crime Stoppers, or call the hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).

It’s anonymous and you’ll get up to a $1,000 cash reward if your tip helps lead to his arrest.

FUGITIVE WANTED BY DOC IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY March 9, 2017 —
Almost a year after being featured on Washington’s Most Wanted for failing to register as a Level III sex offender, high-risk child predator Simon Veliz is, again, not checking in like he’s supposed to and wanted by the Department of Corrections.

If you know where he’s hiding, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS, or use the P3 Tips App to submit your information.

CAPTURE UPDATE March 18, 2017 —
Level III sex offender, Simon Veliz, was arrested by Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies and booked into jail Saturday at 7:01 pm.

Undersheriff Jeff Parks says Veliz was picked up as the result of a traffic stop for defective equipment on a vehicle. A deputy recognized Veliz while dealing with three other men in the vehicle. A second deputy arrived for cover and Veliz was taken into custody on his outstanding warrant for Escape from Community Custody.

FUGITIVE WANTED BY DOC IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY March 17, 2017 —
“Do you like me? Because I can tell you right now, I like you:” A creepy come-on line used by this convicted sex offender to try and prey on a teen girl.

Simon Veliz was 43 years old when he was busted for that sex crime just a couple years ago.

He’s also been convicted of preying on an eight year old girl in 2007 and a 14 year old girl in 2011 — assaulting her on a porch swing and trying to break into her home when she ran from him and locked herself inside.

“On top of the sex offenses, this Level 3 sex offender has a very lengthy criminal history,” says Department of Corrections Ofc. Emily Isaacs. “He has a Robbery 1, a drug possession, domestic violence-related convictions, theft of a firearm. This is an individual who’s very violent. He’s on the run. He preys on small children and we need your help to find him now.”

He’s wanted for failing to register as a sex offender in Snohomish County.

A Level 3 sex offender is the ‘worst of the worst’ and highest risk to re-offend.

The tattoos above his eyebrows and all over his face and neck are just some of the ink he’s got all over his body.

If you know where he’s hiding, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS, or use the P3 Tips App to submit your information.

WMW helping hunt U.S. Marshals top ten fugitives in Western Washington

SEATTLE — Since it started in 2010, the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force has arrested more 14,000 fugitives and some of those were captured thanks to tips from Washington’s Most Wanted viewers.

Now, the Marshals have identified their top ten most wanted suspects in Western Washington.

Now, we’re kicking off a new emphasis with the U.S Marshals Western District of Washington Fugitive Task Force to show these criminals there’s nowhere left to hide.

Jacob Green has spent his career tracking down dangerous fugitives. Now, as the Acting U.S. Marshal for Western Washington, he’s created the Western District of Washington Fugitive Task Force Top Ten Most Wanted. “We’re talking about murder, we’re talking about rape,” said Green. “I’ve been chasing bad guys for a very long time and when we put something behind it, that this is the Most Wanted or this is a Major Case, it gets the attention of the public and it also lets the victims know that we will not stop until we lock them up.”

Each week, the U.S. Marshals will collaborate with their state, local and federal partners to feature a new case here on Washington's Most Wanted. "Our goal of our Top Ten list is to protect victims and a lot of times when people are victimized, they don't have a voice so the goal of the Marshals Service, with the help of your program is to be the voice of the victims,” said Green.

It's dangerous work tracking down the worst of the worst, so the U.S. Marshals created the Law Enforcement Safety Training Program. "We have 22 agencies, federal, state and local that work with us on a daily basis,” said Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Michael Leigh.

So, when task force members are clearing a room, for example, during the search for a high risk fugitive, "We're training for the motivated adversary,” says Leigh.

All of them work in a coordinated fashion even though they come from different law enforcement backgrounds. "A lot of what we do is very dynamic and it's important that in order to mitigate and minimize the risk to our officers as well as the public, we want to ensure that our team members and our task force officers are working fluidly and seamlessly together,” said Leigh.

That means slowing down to ensure the team is working well together, so that when they get a Crime Stoppers tip from a Washington’s Most Wanted viewer, they can act quickly and safely to track down that suspect.

"It doesn't matter how far they go or where they hide, we will not stop until we get them,” said Green.

WANTED IN RENTON —
Residents in one north Renton neighborhood are on alert after a crook stole a surveillance camera that was put up to help stop guys like him. “We see the guy walking up and he makes a half-hearted effort to hide his face. He doesn’t do a very good job. Then he snatches the camera and the camera goes dead,” explains Renton Cmdr. Dave Leibman.

The theft happened on Monday around 7am, but one victim says it’s just the latest crime there that has everyone on edge. “It’s just sad these people are out amongst us and it’s not just happening at night, it’s happening in the daytime,” said Nancy. She asked us not to use her last name for her safety, but she’s hoping somebody knows this guy who stole her Arlo surveillance camera. “I had just walked in the door five minutes before that. It’s a little scary,” she said.

Nancy says they have a good neighborhood watch and everyone stays in touch through social media. While they keep a lookout, police are working to catch the crook.

Another resident got video of what appears to be the same man walking up the street casing houses. “We’re hoping between those two videos that people out there can identify him for us,” said Cmdr. Leibman.

The camera theft comes on the heels of a burglary attempt last December where you only see the suspect for a flash, but can hear him as he tries to break into the home using a crowbar, police sirens finally scared him off.

"One resident having two incidents like this is very disturbing and we just want to exercise every opportunity we can to apprehend anybody involved in this,” said Cmdr. Leibman.

Nancy plans to increase their security with motion sensors on the driveway and has an alarm on the house, but would feel much better when this guy is in custody. "It's just really getting scary out there,” she says.

If you can tell Renton Police who this camera theft suspect is, submit a tip to Crime Stoppers anonymously and get a cash reward of up to $1,000 when he is arrested. Call the hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), or use the P3 Tips App on your smartphone.

WANTED IN SEATTLE —
Seattle Police are hoping you can identify a woman accused of stealing $10,000 in lingerie in minutes, then turning her theft into a strong-armed robbery.

Take a look at the video below to see the suspect walk up to the door and enter the University Village Victoria’s Secret store on February 8th. She moves out of frame but detectives say an employee who was leaving for the day saw her stuffing a plastic bag full of lingerie, so she called back inside on her phone, that’s when the suspect confronted her. “While she is on the phone, suspect appears again on the video and you will see where she actually starts walking with the clerk, gets around the front of the car and she’s shoving her and this is where she shoves her and she threatens to kill her,” said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “Maybe you know who this individual is, maybe you decided not to go with her on this thing. We need that information. Any details on her is important.”

Seattle Police describe her as black, in her early 20's, 5'5", with curly light-blonde hair, light skin and freckles. She was wearing a black North Face jacket and possibly carrying a Louis Vuitton bag.

Detectives say she left in a light-colored 4-door sedan that she had parked outside with the emergency flashers on.

If you can identify the woman, Crime Stoppers will pay you a cash reward of up to $1,000. Call the hot line at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), or use the P3 Tips App on your phone.

Help ID violent burglar scared off by homeowner’s gunfire

WANTED IN PIERCE COUNTY —
The hunt is on for a violent burglary suspect Pierce County detectives say assaulted a woman while trying to break into her home.

They’ve released a sketch of the suspect.

The victim lives on 149th St. NW in Gig Harbor.

Detectives say she was walking out of her garage last month, when she was thrown to the ground, grabbed by her throat and punched in the face several times. But then — her attacker ran off — because detectives say she was able to arm herself with a pistol and fired a shot into the garage’s ceiling.

Detectives say he could be the same man the victim’s relative confronted outside the house several days earlier. “Somebody who has been in the area more than once, it leads us to believe he may be transient, especially if he’s on foot and not associated with any other vehicles,” said Pierce County Det. Ed Troyer. “We don’t have his identification, but she did a great job putting a sketch together of what he may look like. These are the dangerous type of people that are breaking into your house. When you break into a house at 5:30 in the afternoon and you’re confronted by a homeowner and then you choke the homeowner and you grab them by the head and assault them, that makes somebody a whole different level of thief, or burglar. In this particular case, we’re lucky the homeowner had a gun, fired a round up into the ceiling and the suspect fled. She could have just as easily shot him and been justified in doing so, but by firing a round it scared him off. So, if anybody’s seen this particular individual, we want a phone call, because we want to get him identified before somebody gets hurt.”

Detectives think the suspect is white, in his 60’s, heavy set, and about 6’1”.

He had a scraggly beard, glasses, dark graying hair, and reeked of cigarette smoke.

If you recognize him or know anything that can help identify and find this violent assault suspect, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), or use the P3 Tips App on your smartphone.

Help ID foiled credit card fraud, bold attempted burglary suspect

WANTED IN MERCER ISLAND —
Watch the video below to take a look at a guy running up to the porch of a Mercer Island couple’s home.

He pulls up the welcome mat, looking for something — but finds nothing.

Checks the porch — nothing.

Snoops around a garden planter and bushes — still nothing.

Mercer Island detectives say he’s looking for a package containing a fraudulent credit card he had mailed to the victims. He gets foiled though, because the victims were home to accept the delivery. “Last Tuesday, the 27th, we had a local resident receive a package, it was an overnight delivery in the afternoon, received a package they weren’t expecting. Inside happened to be a credit card from a bank they didn’t bank with, had not applied for this credit card, it was in their name. About 11 or 12 minutes later they got an alert on their camera surveillance system that’s hooked up to the doorbell, that there was somebody at the front porch. They looked at the surveillance later and there was a white male, adult, that had come up to the front porch and was searching around on the porch. He didn’t seem to have any business there other than looking something, we presume he was looking for the package that was previously delivered,” said Mercer Island Det. Sgt. Ryan Parr.

Seems the suspect probably got an email or text alert that the credit card had just been delivered to the victim's doorstep.

He was too late -- but didn't give up -- and that’s where the case gets really scary. "Two days later, we presume the same subject came to the house later in the evening, under the cover of darkness and tried the front door. It looks like he was trying to enter the residence. We're looking at identity theft, attempted burglary, theft of mail, trespassing. We're going to look at any kind of applicable charges,” said Det. Sgt. Parr.

To come back days later and try to break-in, likely to somehow still get the credit card -- possibly through force -- this guy is desperate and dangerous.

If you recognize the suspect, call the hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), or use the P3 Tips App to submit your information to Crime Stoppers.

Armed ATM robber: Wanted crook’s cash machine stickup foiled by unphased victim

WANTED IN SEATTLE —
A cash machine stickup is caught on camera, so now Seattle Police are hoping you can help identify an armed crook who hit outside a Wells Fargo in West Seattle last month.

It was 3:40 in the morning — never a safe time to use an ATM — but detectives say the victim needed cash quickly to help his sick mom and he wasn’t going to give it up — not even at gunpoint.

“Soon as the cash comes out he is approached by the subject, you’ll see him on the video. He’s armed. If you look real close it’s a real gun and he’s got his finger inside the trigger, which means it only takes about five pounds of pressure for that thing to go off,” said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. He demands money. This is where an argument takes place. The victim refuses to give him money and they exchange some obscenities and the victim just takes off running. At this point, the subject actually yells at him, ‘You better stop, or I’ll kill you!’ Well, that just sped up the victim even further, then all of a sudden the suspect just takes off.”

Detectives think the robber's white, in his late teens to mid-20's, about 6’0” and weighs around 225 pounds. His face is well-disguised, so they're hoping a possible suspect vehicle may help figure out who he is."On the video there's also a vehicle that goes through and we're not sure whether that vehicle is part of this, or whether somebody was driving through there, so take a look at the vehicle, if you think it's connected, obviously we need that information,” said Carner. “The thing that's disturbing to us is that this guy is on the street. He is armed. We haven't had a rash of ATM robberies for a while, but this guy didn't get any money in this case, that means he’s out, gonna try it again."

Detectives think the truck is a white mid-90's Ford Bronco.

If you recognize the truck or the suspect, or know anything at all that can help Seattle Police identify him, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), or use the P3 Tips App on your smart phone to submit your information.

It's anonymous -- you never have to give your name -- and you'll get up to a $1,000 cash reward if your tip helps lead to his arrest.

TACOMA, Wash. -- Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public's help to ID a robber with a blade who tried to stab a store clerk on Sunday at the Chevron gas station on Purdy Drive NW in Gig Harbor.

"This guy's absolutely jacked up when he comes in and you can tell he's tweaking on something," Pierce County Sheriff's Detective Ed Troyer said.

At 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, he entered the store wearing orange shoes and a matching orange ECKO T-shirt. He went behind the counter and demanded the clerk give him cash from the register. The suspect then made multiple attempts to slash the clerk with the knife as the victim tried to defend himself from being stabbed.

"The store clerk picks up a chair and defends himself as he's lunging at him and going at him with the knife," Troyer said.

The two struggled toward the register.

"Luckily, the store clerk is able to negotiate something to calm him down just a little bit," Troyer said.

The suspect then took the cash and ran out of the business.

He is described as a white man in his early 20s, about 6-foot-2 with a medium build. He appears to have a large black tattoo on his upper chest of either waves or flames that is just visible at the edge of his shirt collar.

If you have any information on who this suspect is, please contact Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). They are offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads to his arrest.
